  4. Summary

A PLvsPW Ghost Trick AU. Used to collect the main story (titled the same as the series) and any adjacent one-shots set in the same universe.

Series is in mostly suggested order, but "rewrite the pages yourself if you must" works best after chapter 1, and "follow this stream (and live out the prophecy)" was meant to be read after chapter 13. It's marked as complete because the main story is done, but I expect to be able to continue writing sequels and bonus content for a long time.

    Summary

It was wishful thinking. It had to be the truth. Glinda may not know much but she knew performance, and the more she thought about it the better it fit. Elphaba’s death didn’t make sense. Glinda had seen it with her own eyes and had stupidly believed that was proof it had happened.

Elphaba’s melting shadow had been wearing the hat. Glinda wasn’t sure of the scientification of melting, but surely either all or none of her clothes should have melted. Surely Elphaba herself shouldn’t have melted. Fiyero’s body was missing, and Elphaba’s hat was in her hands.

Glinda stared at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were bloodshot, and she realized she must have been crying. She looked crazy. It didn’t matter.

    Elphaba was alive.

    Summary

“I don’t feel better,” she says, eyes fixed on the garden. She could’ve taken better care of it, figured out all the machines Chujin used to keep the Dunes from encroaching again, watered the flowers and pruned the dead branches. She wouldn’t know where to start, now. Chujin never taught her. She never asked. It’d never be the same, even if he did. “I wish he’d never left me that damn message.”

The minute it escapes, Ceroba wants to take it back, but she can’t. Star takes the beer from her hands as the aluminum crumples in her claws. She lets him, her head bowed and her shoulders shaking. “He knew me. He knew me, didn’t he? And he still- and he still… what’d he think I could do? That he couldn’t? That the finest minds of monsterkind couldn’t?”

“I don’t think we’ll ever know,” Star says, quietly.

(In the months and years after Clover's sacrifice, Ceroba Ketsukane finds her tomorrows.)

    Summary

Nature is bountiful and near endless with possibilities.

Blue roses are something of an enigma, as they cannot exist in nature. They are plastic or paint. Ceramic and dyed. Facsimiles crafted to satiate an innocent desire for variety in a bouquet. Miracles do not exist in nature. Simply a label conceived of to explain the impossible. Those same elements and events, cobbled together, however, regardless of name, are present. They always have been.

The Prince, the End of the World, will never exist in nature. He is built from the very conceit of a lie. He is reinforced, strengthened, every moment he is not excised. Undying and unceasing so long as the cusp of his ideals remain. He will never stop, and it may be impossible for him to be stopped.

Juri Arisugawa was perfectly content in forgetting he ever existed. Putting that seemingly endless nightmare behind her and letting it fade into a haze of fragmented memory. That is, until Shiori Takatsuki discovers that she is no longer held quite so dearly to Juri's heart...
