Eddie's voice shakes as he goes to ask his next question and really, Buck should've seriously expected this, but he hadn't, so needless to say it felt like the wind had been knocked out of him when Eddie asked,
"Did you...did you ever consent to her sleeping with you…?” And Buck froze before he was quick to defend the actions of both his past self and Dr Wells before a horrible feeling crept up on him, whispering in his ear that that was oh so wrong.
And suddenly, he felt the need to retch up the dinner he'd consumed not even an hour ago.
Or: Eddie helps Buck realize that what happened to him that day in Dr Wells office was not consensual, the team find out, Eddie and Buck have some revelations about their relationship, and Buck runs into Dr Wells again for the first time in years on a call - not necessarily in that order

Summary
Childhood friends were important. Buck knew this, had lectured Eddie on the role they played in childhood development. But he hadn't thought about his own in a long time. He had a life, a wonderful one, and a family who loved him. He didn't need the comfort of an older brother he had dreamed up. Either way, he thinks that Daniel would have been proud of the life he'd built on his own.
It isn't until he tells Maddie about his manifested character and sees her cry that he realises the weight of his own imagination. Sometimes ghosts don't stay behind. Sometimes they're built out of the whispers you aren't allowed to hear.
