Ponk woke up from his bed in the middle of the night screaming. He shot out of bed and ran through his doorway into the moonlit hallway. As he ran down the hallway, he found nearly all of his children in the doorways of their rooms, all awoken as well by the shrieks. He stopped for a second to ask if they knew what was going on before noticing the trail of blood coating the floor, leading down the hallway. He ran past them continuing down the entire length of the hallway to the kitchen.
This would be his last living night.

Anyone who could catch a mysterious dog and take a key from it would get to be the guardian angel's partner. This was the challenge put out by the kingdom's guardian angel, Skizzleman.
So far, no one has been able to complete the task. When Skizz arrives in Jimmy's little seaside town, everyone is excited about the possibility of being the one---except Jimmy. Not because he's uninterested, but because he doesn't want to chase down the dog for it; and, well, he doesn't think he's something Skizz would be into.
Then he meets a strange dog at the docks, and he lets it come with him when it jumps on his boat. After a scare, it turns out that maybe he has a chance after all.
