Summary
All of the dwarves survive the Battle of the Five Armies and Bilbo comes back to the Lonely Mountain with a recently orphaned Frodo one year later. He and Thorin eventually marry, Bilbo becomes Consort Under the Mountain, and the Kingdom of Erebor slowly returns to its former glory under their leadership. Meanwhile, they've also got three nephews to contend with and a Company of dwarves who can't seem to keep their noses out of everybody else's business. Political intrigue, royal headaches, cabbage patches, and hilarity ensues...

Bookmarker's Notes
My absolute favorite when it comes to the after. Perfect showcase of the love of the books and the ideas. Wonderful deep doves into culture without it being pure exposition, not boring and it all goes together. Angst is set up well with the sudden surprises happening at perfect moments to make you feel like it's just a retelling of events. 10/10 comfort read for me

Bilbo liked Erebor, he really did. Even if everyone seemed convinced he was going to leave.
In which soil causes international incidents, Thorin is over-dramatic, and dwarves are rubbish at keeping secrets. Oh, and they build a garden. Eventually.

Summary
"Halfling" is considered an insult in the Shire. Of course, Big Folk (and dwarves) know far less than they think they do, so this fact eludes them. It especially eludes Thorin Oakenshield, so if Bilbo decides to use a Hobbit means of communicating his irritation, who can blame him?
