Moreover the events on Malta end slightly, yet significantly different:
Specifically what could have happened if Owen and Claire did not learn Maisie’s location yet and Rainn Delacourt survived and would now be out for revenge?Some retellings of canon events may seem a little short, but that is only because they are simply meant to refresh the memory until the divergences start.

Owen and Claire attempt to parent their adoptive child. Both of them grew up in households that used corporal punishment, and so they uncritically continue the tradition for a few years, with Owen raising Maisie with a belt in one hand. When things go further than intended, Owen is forced into a state of guilt and begins to doubt his parenting style, before eventually changing it entirely. He must then convince his wife to follow suit, while attempting to repair his relationship with his jaded, teenage child now before it's too late.
While this is happening, Maisie struggles with her trauma and gets a girlfriend.

I started writing this a while back just before the first trailer dropped for Dominion. This was ment to be my take on Dominion. But writing this it did take a left turn and has now become else haha. It has the basis of Dominion but this is my own adventure, and of course it based around Alan and Ellie. During writing this I got distracted with Secret Child and Jurassic Park 3! But due to a few people asking me to post it on here, I thought ok lets see what you all thought! I will finally finish this now!!

"Then the rumble interrupted. Claire didn’t have a chance to look back before the giganotosaurus lurched for the ladder. Her jaws encapsulated the circular barrier surrounding the ladder Maisie was on.
The little girl froze."
My take on what would've transpired had the giganotosaurus did more than just scared Maisie after that ladder incident.
I'm a sucker for angst, so expect loads of it. Also, Mom Claire and Dad Owen deserved more scenes with Maisie in Dominion.
Side note: I changed a lot of interactions/conversations for the sake of this story - but the framework of the movie is still there :)
