Summary
Castiel and Jimmy found a bond of friendship with the Winchester brothers, and Castiel’s connection with Dean blossomed into love. However, Castiel recognized the need to protect the younger boys from the abuse they endured at the hands of their parents. Determined to give them a chance at a better life, Castiel left Sam in the care of Bobby Singer before setting out with Dean and Jimmy to start fresh.
During their journey, Dean got lost, but in a small town in Oregon, he discovered love, support, and a sense of family he had never known. While the shadows of their past still linger and will one day need to be confronted, for now, they are focused on healing and rebuilding their lives.

Castiel was an alpha with a few secrets up his sleeve, and had distanced himself from his family in New York City. Castiel was better off in the West than he was in the City, and they weren’t wrong. When Castiel first roamed he made a name for himself in the trick pony shows of the time and finally settled down in a small town called Angel, Wyoming. Here, he gave into some of his Alpha instincts by taking care of the townsfolk as sheriff, but that wasn’t to say that he was not a dutiful son. Twice his family back home had sent him an Omega to keep the families honor and both times, the Omega in question had not survived the sometimes harsh climate his new home provided. When a letter came from his eldest brother Michael to alert him to yet a third Omega coming to meet him from New York, he expected nothing but more of the same. He was totally unprepared for the Omega who came with his favorite brother Gabriel, and the new pup he was to take into his life. However, the events of the town have kept them apart, his duties to the town came before his new mate, and their relationship suffers. Can they recover, and be what they were always meant to be, or will they continue to dance around each other until they wither?

Cas is spirited into a forest and given the chance to fight others for the chance to marry the elven prince, Dean. That's ridiculous, of course, and he lets them know. Without a backward glance at the handsome (and very shocked) prince, he leaves and wakes up in his bed the next morning with no memory of the strange dream.
Or: Prince Dean, slighted by the handsome man who refused to fight for the chance to marry him, travels to the human realm to enact some very poorly thought out revenge. It's a flop, of course, but at least he's getting a couple of weeks of vacation, right? RIGHT?!

Gabriel and Castiel, brothers who lost their parents, are sent to yet another foster family. Castiel, the younger one, closed off and resistant, and Gabriel, the oldest, bitter and trouble. They arrive at the new house, dropped off by the agency and told to behave. Yeah right. Having their backpacks, not having many possessions with them, the boys look at the house in annoyance, but with a little mischief.

John Winchester has never been much for celebrating Christmas, not since he lost the love of his life in a house fire. He threw himself into work at the car garage he ran, and it was up to his eldest son, Dean, to keep the family going. Things got a lot harder with a third child coming into the picture at age twelve.
And now it is the first of November, eight years later. Dean has become a mechanic, working in that same car garage alongside his father in Lawrence, Kansas. He hasn't really seen his two younger brothers in the last several years. They just… grew farther and farther apart. Sam is a teacher now, specializing in civics and law. And Adam is halfway through his third year of college at the University of Wisconsin.
But it's getting closer and closer to Christmas, and even though Dean isn't the praying type, he's heard - and thought - about things. Used to love this time of year as a kid, and this year he wants to bring his entire nuclear family together again. A tall order, but he's got help from a few good friends. And isn't this supposed to be a time for miracles?

Cas was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome when he was 8, since then, life has had its ups and downs, but the only constant in his life has always been Dean, his best friend and roommate. Sure, Dean can be a little infuriating sometimes and he is obsessed with cleaning the apartment, but he always listens to Cas and gives him space when he needs to be alone, he just knows him so well. Maybe that’s why Cas is so deeply in love with the guy (but of course nobody knows).
Dean has been in love with his best friend since he can remember, but since Cas has always said that he wasn’t born to have a couple, Dean has to settle with being his best friend and keep his feelings a secret. Now, at 23, Dean is thinking about his future, and he has decided that he needs to move on and start meeting new people.
Basically, this is the story of Cas, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, is in love with his best friend (but is afraid to be a burden so he keeps saying he doesn’t feel interested in people in that way) and Dean, who after years of unrequited love from Cas, has decided to start dating.
