This season capitalises fully on the groundwork laid in the previous one. The pacing is faster, the jokes hit harder and the arcs are more focussed.
It also gradually introduces more actual grownups to the plot, and as the adult world continues to come into the picture, the tone simultaneously grows darker bit by bit, which I found a nice touch.
But for the most part it was simply a cavalcade of hilarious misunderstandings and coincidences and I was glued to the screen from start to finish by all the fun, suspense and excitement. Quality storytelling on all levels.

I am going to rate all three arcs of X2 as a whole.
I was not a big fan of the first season, as I found it too slow and the characters were not as interesting. Both issues disappeared in X2, new characters were introduced and all were OP, one particular character from the 1st season changed drastically and I friggin love it. The pace was not as big of a problem, some episodes were slow while others were intense and kept me on the edge of my seat.

If u liked the first season u can expect for more, more chaos, more gangs, more more characters, more fights...but i must say that because there are so many new characters there isn't enough time for each and every one of them and it create filler like stories within the main one (which only god know which one is it).

Still good, but not as good as the first season. Characters leave less of an impression on you and it jumps too much around in events, S1 was divided into more comprehensive arcs.

Awesome. Was afraid that this would not be as good as the 1st season, but it didn't let me know. Story keeps up the previous one, interesting, strong in content, and everything makes you wonder what will be the next. Totally recommend this to everyone. But if you havn't watched the 1st season, watch that first!!

Oh well, how to sum it up?

And all Durarara fans does know that you will need to watch till the end to understand anything. Though honestly, I felt S1 had a better well made ending, though S2 have like 3 cliffhangers

Uhm... some things happened and it was good. There is no better way to describe the second season of Durarara! Additional characters were introduced and the end way just a huuuuge cliffhanger making you wish for another season... starting in July!

Watch Season one first. You can watch 2, and not 1. But you will be very confused. This show has to be one of the best for 2014/2015. The otaku references are sublime, you have to be almost otaku to see them. Look for a reference to Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. This is a warning, you have to watch it twice to get it all in, or you will miss out. Hell even the opening is 1:45 not 1:30 like all others.
