You're a star

Happy Tuesday! Hope you're having a good week so far!

I have a new card to share today, which I made for a cute little boy who just turned 6. I thought the Tiddly Inks Image "Super Boy" was perfect for his card. It's been printed on copic xpress blending card, and colored with copic markers. Fussy cutting was done using my cutterbee scissors.

I used several dies from Whimsy stamps on this card - balloon cluster die (but I only used the oval balloon from the cluster), the star is from Whimsy's sun moon star die set, and then the banner on the top left is from the die set pennants.
The sentiments are also from Whimsy (Everyday Moments). The number 6 is from an old SU numbers set.

The designer paper is from an old SU paper pack. I wanted a city background for the card, and this was all I had, but I do like how it turned out.

Above is what the inside looks like. I don't usually do a lot of decorating inside my cards, I usually add a white mat with a little bit of matching designer paper, but for this card I stamped a birthday verse (also from Whimsy Stamps) on the inside, and a few stars (from a retired SU set).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stay warm where ever you are! More snow for us in today's forecast. I am sure the kids are excited to get out early because of it :-) Who knows, they might even get a snow day tomorrow.

Have a great day!!

Products used:
Stamps: super boy (tiddly inks), Everyday Moments (Whimsy), Birthday Greetings (Whimsy), Number stamp (SU)
Ink: memento, SU
Tools: Balloon cluster die (whimsy), banner die (Whimsy), circle nestabilities,
Embellishments: glitter, button, twine

WordPlay Saturday Challenge - January

Good morning everyone, and thanks for stopping by! It's time for the 1st wordplay challenge of the new year! Hope you'll play along and share your creation with me!

Before I get to the new challenge it's time to announce the winner of last challenge.
Random.org selected #5 that is

 Ulla .

Congratulations Ulla, please email me your complete address so I can get your prize sent to you!
ellibelle_blog at yahoo dot com

And now for this month's challenge...
the challenge word is..

Yellow.

Such a cheerful color, reminds me of warmer weather, and although I do love winter, it has been way too cold of a winter this year! (Although it did warm up a little bit the last couple of days!)

To play along simply create a papercraft project using yellow somewhere on your card. It doesn't have to be the main color, but it does have to be easy to see.

Here is what I made.
Products used:
Stamps: Bee (tiddly inks digi), honeycomb greetings (Whimsy Stamps)
Papers: SU yellow designer paper and card stock, washi tape polka dots (purchased from Whimsy Stamps), copic xpress for image, recollection 110l
Embellishments: clear button (SU), twine, glitter

Another view.

I would also like to enter my creation to the current Tiddly Inks challenge which is Clean and Simple.
Also the Graph it Challenge is Springtime inspired yellows/blues and so I am entering my card there as well.

This month I am giving away a cute stamp set by Hanna Stamps. Again, from my personal collection, so slightly used.

Now it's your turn. Simply leave a direct link to your project below using inlinkz.

A few things to remember:
It must be a new creation
You may combine this with other challenges
You must mention and link this blog when entering the challenge
You may enter up to 4 times
Would love to have you as a follower, but it is not a requirement

Favorite 5 Christmas cards of 2013

Happy Thursday everyone!

Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday with your family. Mine was good although I was a little under the weather, and hubby had to work Christmas Day until 3.
Kids were super excited as always about Christmas, because they get little surprises left by Christkindl on Christmas Eve, then of course Santa visits us too, so more presents Christmas morning. Had to exchange some things that my son got, because Santa just has no clue what beyblades are and doesn't know the difference between beyblades and beywarriers. LOL. Thanks to the amazing return policies he was able to get what he wanted after all! It was a nice and relaxing Christmas spend with my little family.

Since I don't  have anything new to share right now, I decided to play along in

Here they are in no particular order. If you like to read more about each project, simply click the link above the card.

All these cards were made from September on, so if you are a regular visitor of my blog you might remember seeing  them not so long ago.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be off to visit some of the other linked projects now, to see all the gorgeous Christmas cards out there!

Have a fabulous day everyone, and enjoy the rest of 2013!!

Tiddly Inks - Challenge Time

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks for stopping by! It's time for a new challenge at Tiddly Inks, and  I get to guest design one more time!
I used the brand  new digi - Santa's Helpers- just released about a week ago. Isn't it adorable!!
I colored her up using copic markers.
Kept the card pretty simple to keep the focus on the cute image. I layered it onto some designer paper from Whimsy stamps, it fit my coloring perfectly! Doesn't happen very often, especially if I color the image before choosing the paper.

Both sentiments are part of a set by Craft UK. I used a Whimy Shapeology die to cut out the Ho, Ho, Ho (Notables 2 die).
To finish it off I did a little sewing, added a sowflake (Whimsy's layered snowflake die), and a clear button with some silver cord. Also added a sticky rhinestone between the two sentiments.

Entering this into a few other challenges too:
Lexi's Creations  Christmas
Paper Playtime -  Anything Goes
Stamp and Create -  Anything Goes
There She Goes - W - Christmas Critters

Have a great day!!

Tiddly Inks Special Guest Designer

Hello everyone and many thanks for visiting!

Earlier this year I was one of the lucky people chosen as a special guest designer for Tiddly Inks. Huge thanks to Christy off Tiddly Inks for allowing me to play with some of  her cuties!!

Below is my creation for  the latest challenge - anything goes. I hope you'll get a chance to play along in this challenge, as there is a fabulous tiddly inks prize up for grabs!

Here is what I created using the super adorable digi "Lilli Claire -Make a Wish".
She's been colored  using copic markers. The papers are from a 6x6 paper pack by My Minds Eye, which I purchased at Hobby Lobby some time ago. Thought the image would be perfect for a little birthday card, so I added a birthday sentiment from Whimsy Stamps. The flourish was made using one of Whimsy Stamps Flourishes dies, and the beautiful flower was diecut using a MFT die. I added some sticky pearls and glitter as embellishments, and to finish if off I did a little bit of sewing.

Best Witches...

Hello everyone and thanks so much for visiting!
I was so excited to find this cute digi stamp from Tiddly Inks in my inbox yesterday. Christy of Tiddly Inks generously emailed all the Design Team call entries this cutie as a thank you, of course I had to color her right away. Plus, if you haven't entered the call, she is available for purchase for the special price of just $1 for a very limited time.

I did not make the full term design team call, but I am super excited to say that I was asked to be a guest designer for one of the upcoming months. Of course I had to accept that offer!!

Now onto my card, the image is called "Spell on Ya". She has been colored with Copic markers. Still learning how to do pleats and I found it challenging to color curly hair too, but I am sure with practice I too will get better at  it.

Here is the list of colors used:
Hair/Shoes: C4, C5, C7, C10
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, R11
Clothes: BV00, BV02,BV04, BV08, Y11, Y13, Y17, YR14

Here is another view.
The image has been cut out using my Cutterbee scissors before adhering to the card. I found the "web" designer paper in my stash and thought it matched the dress perfectly.

The sentiment "Best Witches" was computer generated, the other sentiment is from a retired SU stamp set. I inked the white edges with mustard seed and orange distress inks. It's a pretty simple card sketch, I simply added the little banner, which was made using Whimsy's die set "Contest Ribbons", and I added a little flower with a brad and some twine to it. I added some glitter too but it is really hard to see in the photos.

I am entering my card to the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly Anything Goes
The Crazy Challenge Anything Goes
Going Grey With Scrap-Creations Anything Goes

Have a great day and happy stamping!

Flutterby sweet butterfly

Hello and thanks so much for visiting. If you read my last post, I told you there that my Mojo has been gone and I really hadn't done much papercrafting before that. But what I did do (besides reorganizing my craft area), I looked at several copic tutorials and did some coloring just for the purpose of practicing. (Huge thanks to my Whimsy teamies for encouraging me with the copics!!)

I do like how my coloring turned out, and I realized that if I look at the right tutorials copic coloring isn't really that hard after all.
Tiddly Inks is having a Design Team call at the moment, and since I have been falling in love with these cute characters, I decided to enter my card to the Design Team call. These characters are just so much fun to color, not matter the coloring medium may be.

The image I used for today's card is called Fluttering by to say Hi from Tiddly Inks' Annabelle and Faythe collection.

 Copics used:
 Skin - E000, E00, E11, R00, R20
Hair/Shoes: E31, E33, E35, E37
Dress: B0000, B000, B00, B02,B04
Wings & butterflies: Y00, Y11, Y15, Y17, B0000, B00
Flowers: B0000, B00, B02, B04, E31, E35, E37,
Grass and stems: YG01, YG03, G21, G85, G99
Outline: B0000, colorless blender

Here is another view at the image.

To create my card I went with one of my most favorite sketches. The image was cut out using cirlce nestabilities shape and then layered onto a double doily circle diecut (die from Whimsy Stamps). The designer paper is from one of the packs by My Minds Eye, from Hobby Lobby. I punched out some butterflies and a little flower using the matching designer paper. To finish it off I added some stitching, glitter and twine. The sentiment is from Whimsy's Summer Letter Seals sentiment set. The complete list of products used is below.

I believe the Tiddly Inks DT call is open  until the end of the month. If you'd like to find out more simply click the logo below..

Products used:
Stamps: Fluttering by to say Hi(digi from Tiddly Inks), Summer Letter Seals (Whimsy Stamps), lavish flourishes (Whimsy Stamps)

Little Wryn Flutterby

The kids are playing with their friends today, so I decided to play along in the Tiddly Inks Challenge. The theme is "Use a Wryn". I bought a couple of them a few months ago, and sadly didn't get a chance yet to use them. Glad I was able to today. By the way, there is a really cute Wryn freebie posted on the Tiddly Inks blog for use in their challenge, for those that don't have any of the Wryn images.

For my card I used the cute image Wryn Flutterby.
I just love this cutie! She's been colored  using my colored pencils, the dress was paper pieced. I used a sepia pencil to add some shading to the dress.

It's a pretty simple sketch. Just layered some SU designer papers, and added the sentiment, with the flourish tucked under. Added some ribbon and a punched and layered flower. Of course all the wings needed some glitter too.

Just playing in a few challenges today,
Tiddly Inks Challenge - use a Wryn
Our Creative Corner - Anything Goes
Card Makin' Mamas -  Punches

Products used:
Stamps: Wryn flutterby (tiddly inks), lavish flourishes (whimsy stamps), Summer letter seals (whimsy stamps)
Papers: SU - retired, neenah white CS, SU brown CS (forgot the name of the color)
Embellishments: brads, glitter, ribbon
Tools: vines die set (Whimsy Stamps), flower trio punch (SU), word window punch, large oval punch

Thanks so much for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

My first Tiddly Inks

I just bought this cute digital stamp yesterday. It is my first Tiddly Ink image, and this one was so much fun to color!!

I used my Faber Castell polychromos pencils on Neenah solar crest card stock. The papers are from My Mind's Eye and Prima Marketing, and then Crumb Cake card stock from Stampin Up.

tiddlyinks

The sentiment is from a new set by Whimsy Stamps (Circle Celebration Pennants).
I embellished this with a few prima flowers, sticky pearls, a clear button and some linen thread, and glitter. To finish it off I did some sewing with my janome mini. Please excuse the messy stitches. My machine started to act strange in the middle of it.

This week the challenge at Tiddly Inks is "Birthday Bash", and I would love to enter it there. I am combining this with the challenge at Do You Stack Up with the theme of sewing. At Digital Tuesday the theme is "your favorite color", and I have to say that at the moment I love to use the color kraft, and of course pink and aqua have always been some of my favorite colors. At the Catered Crop the challenge is "Stitching", so I will enter it there too.

And that is all for today, I will be back again Sunday with my new Penny Black and More card for our April challenge. Hope you'll check back then!

Have a great day!!
