A reminder... Don't be a scaredy cat by letting this frighten you away. We suggest you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with our Guidelines for our 3-2-1 Recipe Challenges and introduction of our "Ingredient Icons". These will give you the ingredient's purpose and what crafting materials are acceptable. Experienced crafters may not require this level of detail, but at times, it will be a great reference for clarifying the ingredients.

WELCOME to Challenge #182 - Let the Troubles Begin!
This Challenge runs from
Monday, January 6th thru Sunday, January 19th
"3-2-1 Recipe - Warm & Cuddly"

Thing 1:  Trouble Maker

OR
play along with Thing 3's optional twist and/or consider Thing 2's optional dare to use our sister's sketch challenge and earn additional chances at our random drawing.

Thing 3:  Twisted Sister
says, "Brrrrr!  When it's cold I enjoy snuggling up with my kitten.  I don't want Jack Frost nipping at my nose, and Kitty knows how to keep him away.  My Optional Twist is to include a fuzzy or cuddly critter in your project."

If you include this twist with your 3-2-1 Recipe you will be awarded an additional chance in our random drawing.

THING 2:  Double Dare
says, "If you are looking for additional inspiration to use with our 3-2-1 Recipe, check out the current sketch at our Sister Challenge, Try a Sketch On Tuesday or click on the clipart to the leftIf you use their sketch and link your card to their challenge you will be awarded TWO chances in our random drawing."

Alternate Challenge:  If you have met our 3-2-1 recipe requirements and have included a warm and cuddly critter, you can enter the Crazy Critters Challenge. Check the rules for their challenge to make sure you have met their requirement and eligible dates and be awarded yet another chance in our random drawing.

Special Note:  TSOT starts on Tuesday following DTC Challenge on Monday, so it's important your post date for your project is after DTC publish date, or you would be backlinking.

Providing you use the TSOT sketch and/or the Alternate Challenge and have entered your card... please include TSOT's name and/or Alternate's name next to the DTC link in your post so you are eligible for other chances in our random drawing.

Announcement for our 3-2-1 Recipe

SURPRISE!  WE ARE ON BREAK
We will be back Monday, January 6th
with our NEW Bi-Weekly Monday Challenges.

First, we want to thank all of you for your dedication and participation in our quirky challenges, and for putting up with our shenanigans.  We promise you... this won't stop.

It has become increasingly difficult to find challenges compatible with our challenge dates. We needed time to finalize our new venture for 2025. We are optimistic these modifications will be more consistent with start dates and still maintain our quirky challenges with optional twists. So fasten your seatbelts and read about the plan:

THING 1:  Double Trouble's requirement will be a 3-2-1 Recipe, and ingredients will vary with each Challenge. The clipart to the left includes a sneak peek for our first challenge January 6th "Warm & Cuddly."

THING 3:  Twisted Sister will remain as an optional twist. In our sneak peek, she is excited and wants you to include a warm and cuddly critter.

THING 2:  Double Dare's dare will be an option to play along with our Sister Challenge, Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT). (Check out the clipart in Thing 1's hand for the sketch.)  And sometimes there may be an Alternate Challenge.

The only requirement for eligibility for our random drawing is to play along with Thing 1's 3-2-1 Recipe. But we also encourage you to add some fun by using our optional twist and optional dare for additional chances in the drawing

Click HERE for details on our 3-2-1 Recipe Guidelines. Don't be a scaredy cat by letting this frighten you away. We suggest you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with our new Guidelines for our 3-2-1 Recipe Challenges.  Most important is the content for Things 1, 2, and 3 and understanding our new concept. This 3-2-1 Guideline Page is a work in process as we go forward with challenges.

We are introducing "Ingredient Icons". These are primarily for use with the clipart but give you the ingredient's purpose and what crafting materials are acceptable. Experienced crafters may not require this level of detail, but at times, it will be a great reference for clarifying the ingredients in our challenges.

In the Guidelines, we have also included techniques that may appear in our 3-2-1 Recipe Ingredients.  Included may be brief tutorials or references for inspiration. This is another great reference for clarification.

The Design Team is excited about these changes and hopes you are, too.  If you have comments, suggestions, or questions about these guidelines that may benefit our challenges please email us at challengedoubletrouble@gmail.com.

We are looking forward to your continued participation in our challenges and seeing how you apply the ingredients in our recipes.

There are still two days left for scrapping in 2024... so take advantage and join us at Double Trouble. Simply scroll down or click HERE to participate in our "It's Up To You" Challenge and then ring in the New Year.

WELCOME to Challenge #180 - Let the Troubles Begin!
This Challenge runs from
Monday, November 18th thru Sunday, December 1st
"Stitch It Up"

THING 1: Trouble Maker
says, "Our requirement for this challenge is simple... use stitching somewhere in your project. There are many possibilities for using paper scraps, stencils, and even embossing folders to create patchwork, quilting, and/or knit designs. Consider using punch- or die-cutting, hand or machine sewing, piercing, hand-drawn stitching, needlework or cross-stitching, etc... so, keep calm and stitch on.  'Stitch It Up' and show us your creativity."

You can stop here...
OR
UseTwisted Sister's optional twist to create some stitchery on one of the AHSC Sketches.

THING 3: Twisted Sister
says, "Well, most of you know my specialty... I usually provide you with an optional twist, but I'm simply sayin' that if you have used either of the Atlantic Hearts sketches below, within the dates required, you will earn another chance in our random drawing for each time you use the sketch.

AHSC #604
Mon Nov 18th - Nov 24th

AHSC #605
Mon Nov 25th - Dec 1st

"Although the sketches are designed for the holidays, interpretation of the sketches is up to you. You can also consider using other events such as Thanksgiving, Autumn, a birthday, or another special day... it's your choice.

"You can also change the orientation of the sketch... rotate the sketch or use its mirror image. You may vary the shapes and add a sentiment as long as the basic sketch is recognizable in your project."

When you use either of these sketches, you will earn another chance in our random drawing.

THING 2: Double Dare
says, "In keeping with Thing 1's requirement, 'Stitching', if you have used one of the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenges, you can enter your project.

"Note:  AHSC are weekly sketch challenges (Monday through Sunday)... so make sure you are submitting to the proper sketch challenge and the right dates. Links are provided by clicking on the sketch below."

Monday, Nov 18th - Sunday, Nov 24th
