- If the default IP Address of your router is 192.168.1.1 change it to 192.168.10.1 subnet
or depend on the demand of your competency assessor (ex: 192.168.10.254)

COC3 - Setup Computer Server
• Install and configure a Windows Server 2008/2012 OS
• Promote the server to a Domain Controller
• Configure the Domain Name Service (DNS) role on the server
• Configure the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) role on the server
• Create an Organizational Unit (OU) and create two (2) user accounts
• Join the clients (laptop and desktop) to the domain
• Install the File and Storage role on the server
• Create a share in the server and map it on the clients
• Create a folder in the server; share it (read/write) for FOLDER redirection.
• Redirect documents and desktop of the clients
• Configure remote desktop on all the machines
• Install Print Management
• Install a printer in the server, install the driver
• Configure printer deployment

CREATING A BACKUP
In windows Server the backup features are not installed in default you must add features to
enable this in Windows Server 2008

• Depend on the assessor instruction you can make a system image backup or customized
backup from PC1 desktop to PC2 Drive D: Backup folder and Vice Versa PC2 Desktop to PC1,
D:\Backup
• Sometimes, the assessor demand a System Restore Backup
• Please make sure that the firewall are turn off to avoid undesirable network error
• In Network Advance Sharing, you can also turn off the password protected sharing

CREATING A BACKUP
• Create a Folder in your source desktop (PC1) (ex: yoursurname folder)
Inside the Folder (create a file to be backup ex: yourname.txt)
Inside the txt file (type your fullname and)
* This created folder will be use for your backup purposes
• In your target (PC2) computer make a Folder in drive D: (Folder Backup)
• this will be the target or storage backup in your network
• Perform Customize Backup
• Backup your created folder in your computer 1 (PC1) to the Drive D:\Backup of computer2
(PC2)
