Coiled Tubing Check Valves
and Dual Circulation Sub

Ball Check Valve

Typically run in tandem, the Ball Check Valve is a safety component used
within a coiled tubing string. It provides one-way flow to allow fluids, N2, or
CO2 to be pumped through the coiled tubing, while preventing well fluids from
flowing back up the tubing string. Ball check valves will not permit drop balls
or wiper plugs to be pumped through to the tool string below.

Flapper Check Valve

The CT Flapper Check Valve is a safety component used within a coiled
tubing string. It provides one way flow to allow fluids, N2, or CO2 to be pumped
through the coiled tubing while preventing well fluids from flowing back up the
tubing string. A drop ball can pass through the Flapper Check Valve to operate
tools below the valve. Dual flapper redundancy ensures a positive seal for safety.
The Flapper Check Valve cartridges within the tool are available in two types
of set/sealing arrangements depending on customer preference. Cartridges are
available in a low pressure Teflon seal and high pressure metal-to-metal seal
or a low pressure o-ring seal and high pressure metal-to-metal seal.

ties above the tool string by two activation methods. The tool incorporates drop
ball activated circulating ports and a burst disc. The pressure at which the tool
will open by the drop ball method can be easily adjusted at surface by varying
the number of shear pins used. In the event that circulation is lost, pressure can
be applied to the tubing to burst the disc allowing a drop ball to be pumped to
the circulating sub or disconnect. Burst discs are available in 4,000, 5,000 and
6,000 psi ratings.

Flow Release Pulling Tools

Flow Release External Pulling Tools

Flow Release External Pulling Tools are designed to latch and retrieve
standard external fishing profiles. An increase in flow rate across a jetting
facility within the tool creates a pressure drop which retracts the grapple and
allows it to latch into the profile on the fish. Reduction or termination of flow
results in a positive engagement with the fish for pulling or jarring operations.
The flow release feature allows the tool to be cycled as many times as necessary
and is ideally suited for horizontal applications where loads to active mechani-
cal operated tools are difficult to achieve.

Features
• Flow activated — no drop ball required

Hydraulic Bow Spring Centralizer

The Hydraulic Bow Spring Centralizer utilizes hydraulically expandable
bow springs. In a static condition, the bow springs remain in the retracted state,
flush with the tools O.D. Circulating differential pressure across the tool expands
the bow springs to contact the side wall of the well bore. Being hydraulically
activated allows the tool to generate sufficient force in deviated or horizontal
well bores to lift the tool string off the side wall, centering it in the well bore.
The tool is ideally suited to be utilized as a stabilizer with a downhole motor.

Coiled Tubing End Locators
and Adjustable Back Pressure Valve

Hydraulic Tubing End Locator

The Hydraulic Tubing End Locator is designed to allow accurate measure-
ment of the end of the production tubing shoe for depth correlation. The tool is
flow activated to allow the operator to re-tag the end of the tubing an unlimited
number of times without tripping to surface to reset the tool. The internal
pressure generated inside the tool forces the locator blades out of the tool body
to tag the end of the tubing. Being flow activated allows the operator to vary
the amount of pump out force the locator blades exert on the tubing by varying
the flow rate.

Mechanical Tubing End Locator

The Mechanical Tubing End Locator is a robust yet simple means of effective
depth correlation. Positive tagging of a downhole restriction is achieved by
the use of dogs which collapse inwards on application of a push/pull load.
Once through the restriction, the dogs return to their neutral “out” position.
(Not illustrated.)

Adjustable Back Pressure Valve

The Adjustable Back Pressure Valve is used to hold pressure from above
until a pre-set internal pressure is applied to the tool. Once the pre determined
internal pressure is applied a valve opens providing communication through
the bore of the tool. This is useful where formation pressure will not support
a column of fluid or as a safety tool for running pressure activated perforating
guns. The tool can be used to provide a hydraulic advantage to straighten
tubing while running into a deviated well by helping to prevent helical
buckling. The tool is fully adjustable to open at settings ranging from 500 to
5,000 psi and is easily field-dressed.

Coiled Tubing Multi-Opening Circulating
Sub and Pressure Release Drop Ball Sub

Multi-Opening Circulating Sub

The Multi-Opening Circulating Sub has been designed to cover many appli-
cations. The MOCS tool does not require a drop ball for its operation and can
be cycled as many times as required without pulling the BHA out of the hole.
It can save time and optimize performance in well cleanout operations, allow
for selective placement of fluid treatment/gas injection, and extend motor
life by isolating the PDM while circulating. The MOCS is designed for use in
applications with high back pressure tools below it. Current size available is
2.875" OD. Size options can be discussed with a National Oilwell representative.

Pressure Release Drop Ball Sub

The Pressure Release Drop Ball Sub provides a mechanism for actuating
downhole tools in applications which do not permit the conventional use of a
drop ball. This allows the tool to be used in conjunction with stiff wireline reels
(where the coiled tubing string contains electric line which prevents the easy
passage of a drop ball) and below tools which do not allow the passage of a drop
ball. The tool can be activated at will from the surface following a controlled
hydraulic sequence. Pressure at which the disconnect cycle starts is adjustable
from 1,000 to 5,000 psi. Time delay is adjustable to customer requirement.
Current size available is 2.250" OD, with 0.5" thru bore. Size options can be
discussed with a National Oilwell representative.

Hydraulic Up/Down
Coiled Tubing Jar and Intensifier

Hydraulic Up/Down
Coiled Tubing Jar and Intensifier
The Hydraulic Up/Down Coiled Tubing Jar and Intensifier are straight-pull and push jarring tools
that employ patented combinations of hydraulics and mechanics. Their unique design allow for easy
and dependable operation. No setting or adjustment is required before going in the hole or after the fish
is engaged. The operator can easily and simply control the intensity of the jarring blows by varying the
applied load. The Jar can deliver a wide range of blows, from low to very high impact and impulse forces.
The Intensifier is designed to operate in conjunction with the Jar to supply force acceleration during the
jarring stroke. The comparatively large I.D. permits the use of drop balls for unlatching devices.

Threaded Coiled Tubing Hangers

Threaded Coiled Tubing Hangers

Our Threaded Coiled Tubing Hangers are industry proven and feature
a slip and element design.
A standard rubber element combined with a cone enable trouble free run-
ning and installation of steel or plastic coiled tubing under live well conditions.
The hangers incorporate a failsafe element lock down system utilizing a
threaded ring. A positive stop prevents coiled tubing string weight from collap-
sing the coiled tubing.
The element can be energized through the hydraulic port or with the weight
of the string then locked in position with the top cap.
