Administration Manager (Role : HR Head for both Corporate and Plant level). It’s a German MNC
which leads globally in the development, manufacture and supply of premium alumina and alumina-
based products. Core area of activities are :

a.General

 Develops and directs implementation of plans and/or programs to ensure the most effective utilization
of human resources to support unit objectives as well as global objectives.
 Acts as key contact for all departments and function as a member of the local Management team,
meet operational plans and metrics as well as function as a member of the global HR team and meet
strategic HR plans.

b. People-related Services, Policies, and Programs

 Coordinates,develops and the implementation of people-related services, policies, and programs


which are in line with global and local objectives. The major areas are : recruiting and staffing,
organizational planning and development, performance management, employment and compliance to
regulatory concerns, employee orientation, development, and training, policy development and
documentation, employee relations, employee communication, compensation and benefits
administration, employee safety- welfare-wellness and health, employee services and counseling.

Talent Acquisition and Resourcing:

Management of the complete recruitment life cycle (staffing, recruitment, onboarding program, contract
negotiations, policy & procedures) for sourcing the best different functional & operational areas from
diverse sources after identification of manpower requirements in consultation with heads of different
functional as well as operational areas.
Leadership Hiring across geographies and verticals.
Negotiation of Compensation & Benefit.
Responsible for Campus Hiring/Special Requirement Hiring.
Responsible for carrying out interviews of senior level candidates and dealing with placement agencies.
Streamlined the Joining and On boarding Process for senior level employees with Background checking.
Creating a Hiring Plan and Budget for the vertical.
Conducting cost effective recruitment using different job portals and social networking sites.

Payroll Management/Employee Relations:

Managing payroll functions of the staff and contract employees.


Supervising activities of the Time Office, attendance and leave record for processing payrolls of employees.
Managing full & final settlements alongwith PF and other recoveries.
Implementing HR policies (manpower planning, recruitment, selection, induction, documentation,
orientation and development) of employees in the organisation.

Talent and Performance Management:

Developing Job Descriptions/KRAs for all positions of the entire zone.


Evaluating the performance of employees as per identified KRA’s by developing mechanism for measuring
performance by using Balance Score Card. Managing Appraisal process across the levels and establishing
framework for substantiating Performance Appraisal system linked to Reward Management.
Handling promotions, upgradations, transfers and employee benefit programs.
Compensation & Benefit fitment decision aligned to company philosophy.
Formulating & implementing increment, incentive, rewards, recognition & other remuneration policies.
Benchmark & Setting up HR processes wherever gaps exist.
Identifying Critical Competencies through competency mapping and prepare competency directory for all
the roles.
Streamlining the Exit process and Setting up retention mechanisms.

Training & Development:

Conceptualizing & developing training & development initiatives to improve productivity, building capability
and quality enhancement.
Identifying training needs across levels through mapping of skills required for particular positions and
analysis of the existing level of competencies. Using Competency Mapping and gap analysis for training
need identification.
Ensuring timely implementation of the training calendar and carrying out post evaluation of training.
Conducting In-House & external training programs for talent development. Imparting training on specific
topics to all levels of employees.

Organization Development :

Designed, directed and managed a company-wide process of organization development that addresses
issues such as superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design and change

Conducting domestic enquiries, attending complaints, resolving employee grievances, settling disputes
within the organization and taking disciplinary action when required.
Attending Labour Court & Conciliation meetings and following up the court cases.
Conducting negotiations with local political leaders for recruitment of contract labour/new work
assignments/settlements.
Handling Long Term Agreement settlement of permanent workman/contract workmen and related issues.
Handling contract labour management in all respect (approx 800 contract workers).
Negotiating and amicably settling disputes with the Unions (including contract labour) and arriving at
productive agreements.
Ensuring maintenance of amicable employee-management relationship in the organisation by encouraging
workers to voice their opinions on common platforms and inviting suggestions.
Maintaining harmonious IR in a multiple union/single majority union scenario through strong & positive
communication and handling of issues.
Resolving related issues regarding opening of new warehouses and transport branch across the Zone.

Statutory Compliances and Liasoning:

Maintaining The Minimum Wages Act, The Payment of Wages Act, The PF Act, The ESI Act, The Shop &
Establishment Rules, The Gratuity Act, The Contract Labour Act, The Payment of Bonus Act, The Factories
Act, The Industrial Disputes Act and other related Statutory Laws.
Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations like PF, ESI, Insurance policies, Gratuity for the employees.
Administering bonus and loan payment policies.
Liaisoing with various government and private agencies such as Directorate of Factories, Office of the
Labour Commissioner, Office of the Regional PF Commissioner, ESI Directorate etc. and ensuring
compliance of all applicable statutes related to Labour Legislations.

Employees Welfare/Community Development Programmes:

Organising various welfare activities such as Picnic, New Year/Year end celebration, Entertainment Party,
Safety & Health Programs, Cultural Programs and Annual Gathering of employees.
Supervising activities of Canteen, Restroom, Employees Welfare Fund, Co-op Society & Dispensary.
Arranging medical/occupational checkups in coordination with the Medical Officer/EHS Manager.
Conducted Annual Census in Tea Plantations, providing housing and other basic amenities required for a
large work group: resident in the plantation, running a Group Hospital & Dispensary, Crèche, etc.
