Dusun Tua, Hulu Langat forced to do a small-scale business. With revenue not more than RM50
per day, she must raise her 4 kids without his husband. The divorce caused her more independent
in her life.
This paper is to detail up the report on CSR activity that had been conducted on 7 March
2020 in Puan Mazliana’s Nasi Lemak stall by our group. Besides that, this paper is to evaluate
the impact on the activity that we have done and come out with a recommendation and conclusion.
1
1.0 Introduction
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a self-regulating business model that allows a
company to be socially accountable— to itself, its stakeholders and the public. By practicing
corporate social responsibility, also known as corporate citizenship, corporations may be mindful
of the sort of effect they have on all facets of society, including economic, social and
environmental. Corporate social responsibility is a specific term that depends on the business and
industry can take several forms. Businesses can support society through CSR initiatives,
philanthropy and volunteer efforts while boosting their brands. (Chen, 2020)
To fulfill course requirements and play some part in society, our group choose to do CSR
at Nasi Lemak Stall near IKBN Dusun Tua, Hulu Langat. Our objectives are to help the Nasi
Lemak owner who is a single mother to gain her knowledge in business besides helping her to
generate maximum income from Nasi Lemak & Kuih sales on that day. On the other side, we also
want to give awareness to her and her customer regarding on hand sanitizer and face mask usage
during Covid 19 contagious outbreaks. The criteria that make our group choose Puan Mazliana,
owner of Nasi Lemak stall is as per below details:

2.0 Methods To Communicate And Implement The Plan
Our group had come out with not only one plan, but many contingency plan. We had
communicated all the plan through meeting and via Whatsapp group. We have done some
background study to the Nasi Lemak stall before we chose Puan Mazliana and get as much info
to help her. Communication is important mechanism for this activity. We have prioritise up to 4
main methods of communication, encompassing both written and oral. The main criteria set is the
business comes from low-income business.
Methodology
We begin by introducing ourselves in individual to Puan Mazliana, shake her hand then
tell the purpose or objective of doing this CSR program, explain the input data we need to collect
and presentation to university. We also need to gather qualitative methods by interview for
describing, interpreting and gaining in-depth insight into specific concepts. For quantitative
methods, we have collected and shortlisted three potential candidates which include Puan
Mazliana, Puan Hamidah from PPR Hiliran Ampang and Puan Masitah from Jalan Kepong. After
we do a measuring, identifying and categorizing thru survey did to the people nearby and regular
customer, we select Puan Mazliana to become our first choice candidate base on 4 criteria set by
our group before. The main criteria are the business comes from low-income business and
someone that need to help. Puan Mazliana is a single mother and has 4 kids with no background
education in business. She also lacks business-minded while running her nasi lemak business.
4
The review was conducted in four stages:
Preparation:
Our team decided to meet Puan Mazliana at her nasi lemak stall as the main approach to
deal with her while she runs her daily business. Besides, by doing this, we can communicate
closer and have a clear picture to get her input and give the correct advice to her. Puan Mazliana
starts her business early morning from 7.30 o’clock until 11.00 o’clock depend on the sales she
received on those days. For the smooth session, we had prepared some draft questions for the
data collection before the interview session with Puan Mazliana.
Data collection:
To collect information, we had done our surveys, observed the surrounding stall and
nearby shop and interviews Puan Mazliana as of our primary focus. We also get additional
information from interviewing Puan Mazliana regular customers as secondary data. Today, with
the help of internet technology, we are also able to collect data from mobile devices and websites
as tertiary data.
Data analysis:
From the observation, Puan Mazliana's customer increased on the weekend as compared
to weekdays and the profit also increase on that day. By asking a question to the regular customer,
most of them prefer to buy the nasi lemak from the stall because of the taste of sambal and quality
nasi lemak Puan Mazliana made is delicious and also can buy with cheaper price. Its sales price
only RM1.00 for each nasi lemak and RM0.40 for the kuih. She can make 50-60 packs of nasi
lemak and 3 containers of kuih. Her cost for nasi lemak & kuih it's about RM50. Maximum sales,
she can get up to RM100 if she sells all the nasi lemak and kuih. Based on the interview, we find
out about the preparation of her delicious sambal. She cooks the sambal for a long time to ensure
the quality of sambal and the freshness of its taste. We observe that she did not include overhead
costs such as utility bills, the gas and also other hidden costs. Roughly analysis, she might not
sustain if she did not calculate all the cost into the selling price. From the data analysis by we get
a better understanding of the current situation faced by Puan Mazliana. So, we highly recommend
Puan Mazliana to get some basic training at the relevant training provider to ensure she
succeeded in her business. She gets some advantage to expand her business because of the
delicious sambal and regular customer.
5
Report writing and dissemination:
After meeting Puan Mazliana we gather all the information and write a report writing to the
university. What goes into an evaluation report and how it is reported depends on the evaluation
of Dr. Nazahah Abd Rahim as our Instructor and how the intention to use that information.
Moreover, presentation and information needs, we should think about the presentation in
class. The report has many purposes and needs to be present for Dr. Nazahah Abd Rahim to
finish our objectives course business ethics, CSR and sustainability. Within the evaluation field,
there has been a strong emphasis on the use of visualizations when sharing findings in evaluation
reports. We’ve done info or data collection at sites to help Puan Mazliana in her business. This
report also can be used as information and sharing purposes to other people who want to grow
and succeed in business.

3.0 Evaluation Of The Impact Of The Plan
Our CSR event was held in Dusun Tua, Hulu Langat, Selangor on 7 March 2020
(Saturday) from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at a Nasi Lemak Stall near IKBN Dusun Tua, Hulu Langat,
Selangor. We believe it is very important to encourage rural areas (village) to educate people
about their businesses. However, it is easier for us to approach the villager in Dusun Tua, Hulu
Langat. This CSR program is to "EDUCATE THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNER" that operates
their business in the village. We have provided Puan Mazliana the idea how to operate a small-
medium business and just to make sure she is aware with the uncertainty surrounding the
outbreak of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, of our current health issue across
the globe as most of them are too busy with their own life. we want to that our voluntary works to
bring them a trusted source of unbiased information. Throughout these challenging times,
knowledge must and will remain open for all.
As UUM students, it is, however, an advantage to us to obtain the approval for Dusun Tua
Hulu Langat's CSR program from the University Dean. The stall owner is cooperating very well.
During the program, we're able to meet a lot of people to raise awareness about Covid 19
Pandemic breakout in the villages that came to the Nasi Lemak Stall. The program received
positive feedback from both the stall owner and the villagers.
On top of that, Dusun Tua Hulu Langat is a strategic location as a unique retreat spanning
over four acres of land. The 45-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur to the retreat offers an
unexpected but spectacular change of scenery that gradually replaces the sight of the city with
mountains and a laidback little town. It is a Reserve forest and well known for Dusun Tua Hot
Spring is a natural hot spring at Batu 16 on Jalan Hulu Langat, Selangor. During the weekend
there are a lot of people coming over for hiking, cycling, etc. and Dusun Tua Orchard & Farm
Retreat, experiencing the luxury of being close to nature instead of the usual signboards and
highway roads, we had to travel on small roads into the forest area while replying to the instruction
and overcoming the doubts and fears at the same time.

BEFORE CSR EVENT
Segregation of Duties:
Our team formed a conversation and agreed that our CSR program would be implemented
at Dusun Tua Hulu Langat Selangor. We also received feedback from Dr. Nazahah Binti Abd
Rahim to ensure that our CSR curriculum is compatible with the course structure by sending out
the Out campus activity form.
Our teams have divided our responsibilities based on individual expertise to ensure that
the CSR program is well structured. Our team has been permitted by the Head of the Village
(Ketua Kampung) to visit Dusun Tua Hulu Langat Selangor on 7 March 2020 (Saturday) 7:30 a.m.
to 11:30 a.m.
Besides, our teams have also communicated the progress of the CSR event through the
WhatApps application. We have a mutual understanding to carry out this task and to ensure that
everything is monitored. We also decided to prepare slides and notes on how to set up a business,
detailed planning on how to register a business, bookkeeping, cost allocation and budgeting
process to run a business, as well as awareness-raising Covid 19 pandemic (Appendix 1). Mr.
Izeham was in charged to buy face mask and sanitizer. Perhaps, our team does try to request
external parties to join our CSR program but due to certain limitations of crowed, they are unable
to join us.

the business with SSM and how to grow their business in a bigger scale, sells the dish to corporate
offices and commuters on the go, hence killing two birds with one stone. Our programmed focus
on educating, awareness and provide them with minimal knowledge about Business, Budget and
Covid 19. We provide free food, face mask, and hand-sanitizers, valuable information and health
briefing by experience and expert who is currently providing the services to the community who
are a part of our group members.
Mr Izeham, who is currently working in Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) share
his knowledge about typhoid injection. Owners of stalls must have n typhoid injections to prevent
the spread of the disease. The injection is compulsory and a requirement that must be followed
by those involved in the food industry even a stall owner. The objectives of the medical
examination are to ensure food handler is not suffering from foodborne illness or is a carrier of
foodborne diseases. To ensure food handlers mentioned in shall not be allowed to handle food
or place in areas of processing where it is likely to contaminate the food. And to ensure that
products from the food supply chain in this country are safe and do not pose any risk of foodborne
illness to consumers. We have explained to the stall owner the importance of taking this typhoid
injection and this is one of the mandatory requirements for obtaining a food provider license. We
also explain the procedures to her in detail.
Upon arrival at Dusun Tua Hulu Langat, we approached the nearby Nasi Lemak Stall and
bought all nasi lemak and kuih from the owner. We give them free for all passes by and at the
same time make them aware of the Covid-19, give them a free face mask and teach them how to
use the sanitizer before touching food. Besides, we also provided the owner of the stall with 2
bottles of hand-sanitizer and the mask box to contribute to the customer on the following days.
To market the nasi lemak and kuih, we had share our info that can be tried by Puan
Mazliana. Every small business should be on social media, especially Facebook and Instagram.
From its powerful intermediate advertising options to Facebook groups, Facebook has many tools
that small businesses can and should use. A strong presence on Facebook can help Puan
Mazliana expands its business with potential customers.
Having a Facebook and Instagram page helps legitimize Puan Mazliana's business in the
customer's eye or any other way of looking at it is a business without a Facebook profile that may
at best seem out of date or at worst untrustworthy. With so many ways to promote her business
on Facebook, it can be hard to know where to start. Here are six easy steps to make Facebook
work for her to grow her business, which we explained to her:
9
1.0 Create A Business Page
To have a solid and professional Facebook presence, Puan Mazliana needs to create a
separate page for her business. A page is like a regular profile, but it's for brands and
businesses. Also, instead of asking to "friend" someone, users must "like" a page to see
its posts.
When Puan Mazliana set up her Facebook page, there are a lot of options to customize
it. Puan Mazliana can add as much information about her business as possible, including
her type of Nasi lemak offered, address to pick up, contact information, website, business
hours and any info or activity such as catering services and etc. for her business. It's
important to also add a profile and cover photos that reflect her business.
2.0 Post Regularly
To use Facebook to promote her business, Puan Mazliana needs to do more than setting
up a Facebook page, use it and post regularly. Post as frequently as she can and, at a
minimum, once per day. Audience and customers want to feel like they know her business
and can relate to Puan Mazliana.
While it's important to post regularly, it's just as important to post quality content and show
how's her business works to transparency and quality. Puan Mazliana also can use
Facebook's poll features to ask what they want to see or look at Facebook Page Insights,
which helps take the guesswork out of sharing. Facebook Insights is free for every
business page and shows valuable information, such as how many people engage with
each post and how many people it reaches.
3.0 Promote Page.
What good is sharing and creating great content if no one sees it? Fortunately, there are
ways to build a following on Facebook. When Puan Mazliana first creates her page, send
invites through Facebook to her current customers.
Traditional marketing techniques can also help her grow the audience. Puan Mazliana
should put a link to her Facebook page in her email signature and on business cards. It's
also good practice to include all her social profiles on her website and any marketing
materials she produces. Put a special coupon or promotion on her Facebook page, and
tell customers to like her page to get the deal.
4.0 Engage Followers.
Facebook's new algorithm favors posts and pages that create engagement. Before
posting anything on Facebook, Puan Mazliana is advised to ask her if it will create a
conversation. It's also important to remember that Facebook is a social media platform,
10
so she should be social. The key to engagement is posting quality content. For best
results, Puan Mazliana been advised to try to be friendly and conversational. Keep
updated timely and respond to comments and private messages.
5.0 Leverage Friends Of Fans.
People are most likely to try something if their friends already use it. When customers
interact with Puan Mazliana page, their friends will see the activity in their newsfeeds. She
can also foster more interactions using polls and asking questions followers want to
answer. Encourage customers to check in to her business on Facebook when they visit
by offering a small discount for anyone who does. Checking allows users to notify their
friends where they are.
6.0 Try Facebook Ads.
If Puan Mazliana having problems reaching users organically, try Facebook ads.
Promoted Facebook posts look like regular posts but are highly targeted and reach more
people.
Facebook's tools are very effective and make it easy to target a specific audience. Puan
Mazliana can target people who like her page or by location, age, gender, and interests.
Because Facebook collects user data, it can target Puan Mazliana advertisement to those
who are most likely to be interested in her product or service.
POST EVENT
Outcome of Event
Once all the food is given out, we're helping Pn Mazliana clean up the stall. Every visitor
who comes to the stall is very happy when we give them a briefing on the Covid 19 and the free
mask. After that, we ask the owner's option about the services we rendered and she was very
pleased and decided to expand her business, and as her first step, she decided to register her
business with SSM, as she is aware of the costs that she did not incur in measuring the costs to
achieve the actual income benefit. We've proposed to Pn. Mazliana to attend the free Business
training or talk to get more business awareness about how to run her business. Also, we give her
our contact number to contact us if she needs any help in the future. Apart from there we also get
good feedback from netizen in social media as many people encourage us to for more CSR
services, etc.

The impact evaluation includes details on the impacts that an action creates-positive and
negative, planned and unintentional, direct and indirect. This means that an impact evaluation
must determine what triggered the observed changes (in this case ' impacts') called causal
attribution (also referred to as causal inference). In this section, we will evaluate the impact of the
plan before, during and after the CSR event using impact evaluation model.

4.0 Implications Of The Various Theories To Business
In these sections, we will link our activities to the theory of corporate social responsibility.
Firstly, we must understand what corporate responsibility all is about. In the traditional way of
definition, Corporate Responsibility is just only to make a profit which is more directly to talk about
business ethics then. Those business ethics will be taking into consideration how employees
should treat fairly and how should conflict interests been solved. Today, corporate responsibility
is more than that, it includes three theoretical approaches which are corporate social responsibility
(CSR), The triple Bottom line and Stakeholder Theory (The Business Ethics Workshop, n.d.). This
report will evaluate the corporate social responsibility activity done on 7 March 2020 by our group
members based on 3 theory approaches as stated before.
An example can show we as a stakeholder of UUM University are making a profit by collecting
fees from all the students. Even though is a public university, the number of fee charges for
students must ensure is profitability. By achieving it, it counted as economic responsibility and is
for human survival. With the profitability that UUM earns, UUM students can have more resources
to invest more activities for students and that’s the reason we have the chance to contribute back
to society as helping up Puan Mazliana the nasi lemak stall owner.
To link to our CSR activities with legal responsibility, we need to fill up the declaration of own
work. If we did something not right or false claim about our social activities, we need to face
16
penalty probably never get any marks for this assignment and affected our final marks for
Business Ethics, CSR and CSR subject.
Another way that we demo legal responsibility will be we guide Puan Mazliana about how to
operate a proper business and we never guide her anything illegal
Ethical Responsibility means what is right even is not written in the law.
By having CSR activities with Puan Mazliana, we obligate to help her to sell finish nasi lemak to
by providing free nasi lemak to customers and we pay her directly. When reaching until the end
of the activities, we realize that we just only need to pay Puan Mazliana at RM 88 for all the food
been given free. We felt that with her time given to us to run activities, we should do the right thing
to pay her more at RM 200 instead of RM 88 for the food only. We think that is the right thing to
do because of she willing to spend time with us, and it directly impacts her daily customer as she
has no time to spend with them.
As UUM University is an independent and profitable business, UUM design this CSR activity to
all our Business Ethics, CSR and Sustainability students to represent UUM to contribute back to
society.
We as individuals are financial independence and we want to contribute back to society by helping
out Puan Mazliana. We want to help her by guiding her on how to have a better quality of lifestyle.
17
Picture 4: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Pyramid
The triple bottom line defined as a framework that recommends companies should commit to
focusing on social, environmental & profits (Triple Bottom Line (TBL), n.d.). There should be 3
approaches involves TBL which are the profit, people and planet.
18
To make Triple Bottom Line relevant to Puan Mazliana nasi lemak business. Let us look for those
3 approaches which are profit, people and planet.
1. Profit
Puan Mazliana earning profit from selling nasi lemak to the people. On top of that, when we are
having CSR activity with Puan Mazliana, we are helping her maximize her profit on that day.
During the interactive discussion with Puan Mazliana, we share with her proper cost calculation
and how to expand her business by taking the advantages of SME in helping to maximize profit.
2. People
When the customer arrives at the stall, we will usher customers to sanitize their hand because of
the Covid 19 case. On top of that, we spend some time explaining to the customer the importance
of keeping safe to lower down the risk of getting Covid 19 virus. We also help those people around
thereby providing free nasi lemak to them.
3. Planet
Lastly, we use boxes that thrown at the roadside to make it into the advertising board. We wrote
free food in that box. The reason why we want to use those boxes from the roadside instead of
buying a proper board to write it because we want to be environmentally friendly.
With that, this is how the triple bottom line works in the Puan Mazliana business event though is
a very small business scale.
19
Stakeholder Theory:
Stakeholder theory refers to putting stakeholders as a priority in business ethics. It promotes the
practical, efficient, effective and ethical way to manage the organization as all firms involved in
managing those stakeholders (Harrison, Freeman, & Abreu, 2015).
Looking at the Puan Mazliana business model, the stakeholder will involve mostly customers from
the IKBN Dusun Tua. From what we observe, her customers are all mostly below average in
terms of quality of lifestyle. Due to this reason, Puan Mazliana sold RM 1 per packet nasi lemak
to ensure the affordability for all her targeted customers. If she sold expensive, customers may
not afford to buy.
CSR activity which provides free food for the customers is also indirectly to help to ease their
burden.
Those 2 examples taking into consideration by looking at stakeholders as a priority to make any
decision in the business.
20
5.0 Analyze the issues/problems- The State of the World.
Through the observation and an interview session between the team and Puan Mazliana, there
are four (4) issues / problems had been identified as follows;
Microentrepreneur can be considered as a person who is willing to take risks in pursuing a career
in business and are a catalyst for the family’s rapid economic growth. Puan Mazliana is one of
them. She has been doing her nasi lemak business for the past four (4) years to support her
family. As a breadwinner of her family, she faces a lot of struggle to survive and to make sure she
earns enough money for her family’s day to day life. As a single mother with no support from other
family members, life might be quite challenging for her.
She saw the potential of making money through business. Unfortunately, due to some factors,
she couldn’t establish a secure and consistent income. During our visit, we saw that the sale for
a good weekend day was around RM90. This wasn’t good enough as she has to allocate the
money into a few portions such as raw material, friends’ kuih and so on. By simple calculation,
she will only save around RM20 to RM40 as net profit. We foresee that other business cost
attributes most probably not be factored in. During normal weekdays, she spent around four (4)
to five (5) hours a day to earn around RM40 – RM50 for her average sale.
Based on what she makes every month, it shows that she and her family facing difficulty to survive
and have to live under an average. As far as the pandemic of Covic-19 hits the entire world, this
could be one of the toughest times for her because she will lose her income.
Business capital could be one of the most critical issues facing by micro and small businesses.
Sometimes they have very good potential and good quality of product or service to offer to the
customer. Unlucky lack of capital could be a barrier for them to expend or move forward.
21
This is another challenge facing by Puan Mazliana. She realized that she couldn’t do much with
the current capacity as a super micro nasi lemak seller. She has to move by selling more nasi
lemak and other food. The problem is she doesn’t have enough money to be spent on the
expansion of her business and nobody is willing to help or invest in her business. Whatever she
earned daily has to be committed onto her next day sale and her family’s daily expenses.
She has a plan to open bigger nasi lemak’s warung (small restaurant) and venture into the food
catering business. This possibly materializes if some seed capital injection received from
investors or any related business development agencies or authority.
As micro-entrepreneur who selling food in quite rural areas, Puan Mazliana wasn’t exposed to the
right entrepreneurship’s knowledge. She doesn’t have any formal business education and doesn’t
have the opportunity to learn about properly doing business. That can be one of the reasons for
her not registering her business at the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and care less
about the enforcement of getting typhoid vaccine as a food operator. Her justification is due to
time constrain and unfortunate movement limitations as she doesn’t have transport to move
around. Hence she couldn’t afford to attend any business courses.
As a single mother and breadwinner to her family, Puan Mazliana feels irritated due to PPZ
Selangor’s rejection without clear justification. She thinks she is qualified for receiving monthly
zakat because of her unstable economic status.
22
6.0 Recommendation and Conclusion
Based on issues stated at previous section, there are few recommendations to improve and to
settle the problems faces by Puan Mazliana. These recommendations perhaps could give some
positive impact to Puan Mazliana, her family and the community at large.
As we are aware, entrepreneurs must have a sustainable supply of knowledge, skills and
business capital. However, a poor and needy entrepreneur can't become a successful
entrepreneur without help and support. On that basis, the government of Malaysia has done and
provides many initiatives to help the development of micro-businesses. Many agencies and
associations assist traders who have started a business or need additional capital to generate
income, inclusively for the people in the asnaf category.
Microfinancing is at the heart of the government's focus today aimed at defending the needs of
all the people in need so that they can join the country's rapid development. Even in every year’s
budget presentation, the government always paid attention to small entrepreneurs by increasing
the number of microfinance allocations to these groups.
Puan Mazliana needs to restructure her business setup, her business plan, and her business
action. She needs to be connected to the business ecosystem and supply chain which can lift her
business up. By formalizing her business, as small as registering her business at the Companies
Commission of Malaysia (SSM), she possibly can receive the right assistance from the right
parties. It’s aimed at the Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) Master Plan to
encourage the micro and small business to register for formality hence being in government’s
radar for assistance and future planning and national growth.
Obviously, by registering her business, she will be automatically entitled to receive assistance
from many microfinance allocations by agencies such as Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), TEKUN
National, Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), Majlis Agama Islam Selangor (MAIS) and many more.
There are so many channels Puan Mazliana can go if she is keen to develop her business. One
of them is TEKUN National. TEKUN National, for example, is an agency under the Ministry of
Entrepreneurial and Cooperative Development (MEDAC) which was established to provide
simple and quick financing facilities to Bumiputera in order to kick start or expand their businesses.
23
Another channel that she possibly goes through is Majlis Agama Islam Selangor (MAIS). MAIS in
their own capacity has a dedicated subsidiary named Teraju Ekonomi Asnaf Sdn. Bhd. (TERAS).
Objectives of TERAS are to completing basic requirements of asnaf and to assist asnaf in doing
business which in the end they become zakat payer instead of zakat receiver.
In terms of business knowledge, in whatever excuses, she has to change her mindset. Either she
has the time or not, she needs to allocate her time for business classes or courses to success.
One of the simple access to the training or business course initiative is through Amanah Ikhtiar
Malaysia (AIM). AIM can be the right agency that can help her not only on capital but also can
boost her entrepreneur’s spirit. AIM is helping inclusively women entrepreneurs, to bring what
they had best and unleash the potential of women entrepreneurs. The organization is frequently

6.2 Re-consultation with Pusat Pungutan Zakat (PPZ) Selangor
As per stated in issue’s section, one of Puan Mazliana frustration was her application of zakat
assistance through her state legislative assembly representative
(Malay: Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri( ADUN)) has been rejected by Pusat Pungutan Zakat
(PPZ) Selangor.
Based on her story and current condition, the re-consultation with Pusat Pungutan Zakat (PPZ)
Selangor is mostly needed. We spoke to Tuan Haji Ahmad Zaidi Laynan, an officer at PPZ
Selangor which informed us that this case can be consulted and revisit of the case can be made
accordingly. The previous application was made to understand based on the recommendation by
PPZ Selangor’s representative (normally they will appoint wakil kariah to nominate and verify).
The family’s income can be calculated again and clear justification will be made either she is
entitled or not to receive zakat asnaf and any related zakat.
25
Conclusion
The shortcomings of her life and hard time are what motivate her to become a successful
entrepreneur. The desire to change the quality of life and not want the hardship inherited by their
descendants in the future is a factor she is trying to develop herself and her business.
Ongoing guidance and training should be given to entrepreneurs to avoid failure in the enterprise.
In addition, cooperation from the community is also encouraged in helping asnaf entrepreneurs
succeed. Guidance and monitoring from business development institutions such TEKUN
National, AIM, MAIM and zakat institutions in each state generally need to be done, so that they
become truly successful entrepreneurs who can afford to pay zakat and contribute to the country's
economic growth.
At the same time, if Puan Mazliana is entitled to be the grant of zakat funds, this could be provided
in the form of business capital assistance and credit to her as asnaf entrepreneur. This kind of
assistance, in general, is able to realize the aspirations of the asnaf in particular and the charity
institution, in general, to give birth to successful asnaf entrepreneurs through productive charity
assistance.
