Smart Cover...Well it's All in The Name!

 Joy Bryant

Let's get something out of the way first: if you're after a very light coverage concealer, the Smart Cover Concealing Creme is not for you. However, if you've trying to totally cover blemishes, imperfections or dark circles, you may have found a new best friend.
The kits come in two colours, one for light to medium skin, another one for medium to dark skin which cover pretty much all skin tones. Now when you start applying this concealer it can be a little challenging to come up with the right color as you may have to mix the various shades in your kit - but for me, this was a great thing as I normally have a hard time finding a concealer in the right (aka -dark enough) shade for me, the kit allowed me to blend my perfect colour.  It conceals very well, just be careful not to apply too much or you could get the mask effect. Also, there is little transfer, this concealer is not going anywhere, in fact, you can go out, do your thing and it will still take you a good makeup remover to clean your face completely.

All in all, I like the price  ($29.75 for new customers) and the coverage, this is great for women with skin conditions or scars to hide, if you don't fall in this category, you might find it more coverage then you need.  Just bear in mind,  it takes a bit of work to apply it properly, so be aware, you cannot use it in a hurry!

Smart Cover beautifies Helen Mirren on the set of The Last Station

That Helen Mirren is one gorgeous lady and looked amazing at the Oscars Sunday night but you know I am always more interested in the behind the scenes stuff.

Which is why when I found out that Helen's makeup in The Last Station was from Smart Cover I wanted to know a bit more as I was not familiar with the brand.  Turns out that they do camouflage makeup that covers everything!  Including, but not limited to, acne, age spots, birthmarks, dark circles, furrows, rosacea, scars, tatoos, varicose viens, wrinkles, etc, etc.  I'm impressed!  And really if you are being shown up on the big screen you want to make extra sure that all of your flaws are being super concealed!

This set seems to be the best deal on their website - Smart Cover-Up Kit - 10 peice kit - $29.95 US
Includes:  Concealing Cream in 3 shades - there is a light and a dark combo option, colour corrector (which is a white cream to adjust the shades), moisture primer lotion, cover stick, vitamin beauty stick, blending sponges, camouflage brush all in a travel case!

They do have other sets available and you can also buy the pieces seperately.  You can check it all out on their website here.  Christelle is going to try out the dark set as she always has such trouble finding concealers dark enough for her skin.  Keep an eye out, she'll have a review in a few weeks.
