Achieve the hot new "rooted" hair look with Clairol and our Contest!

Looking like a celebrity has become even easier then ever thanks to a new carefree hair colour look called "rooted" hair - where the roots are darker than the rest of the hair colour - on purpose - what I call laziness is actually a sought after look in Hollywood!

The "rooted" trend is a progression from the Balayage technique: your hair is freshly coloured yet designed to look grown out, creating that natural, carefree style. This technique can be used on new or slightly grown out highlights, and you don't need to head to the salon to get it, it's super easy to do yourself at home!

Clairol Colour Director, James Corbett was nice enough to share his tips on how to get the look:

Leave out a one-inch section around the hairline to keep existing face-framing highlights or you can use Nice 'n Easy Hairpainting first to create the highlights. Then clip that section out of the way.

Apply your chosen Natural Instincts shade to the first 2-3 inches of your hair from the root, excluding the section you clipped in front. Do not work down the hair shaft.

Process for 10 minutes and rinse. Shampoo the ends only so excess colour doesn't fade from your roots. Condition your whole head, dry and admire your new look!

Dying (get it?) to try the look for yourself - we think you should so we're giving away 6 coupons - each one good for 1 Clairol product - all to one lucky reader! Stock up to get rooted yourself for the next 6 months, share them with 5 of your bestest friends, use them to dye your dog blue - we don't judge! To enter, just tweet us at @Beautycrazedcan along with @ClairolColor with a link to this post - Canadians only and you have until December 8th to enter! Good luck!

Bad Fashion Gone Wild: It's Not Hot!

I love how Beyonce is trying to keep a low profile! First she goes to St-Tropez in the south of France - believe me if you're looking for a nice quiet place,  this is not the place - then she wears this explosion of colors and patterns all at once AND lots of bling - because you know there is nothing more comfortable to wear when you go sunbathing. Vulgar.

Speaking of vulgarity, Taylor Momsen just graduated from the School of Hollywood Strippers.

It looks like Drew Barrymore wants to be on Beauty Crazed every week! That's the only logical explanation for being seen out in public wearing this, because none of these clothes make sense to me.

Imagine a Hollywood party with the actor Alan Cumming and Beyonce, how awesome would that be? I think the world would implode as a result!

Katie Price Wears an iPod Crown Paired with a Tin Foil Jumpsuit. Because She Can!

Amazing! Katie Price (aka Jordan) is AMAZING! She has outdone herself...and what I really mean is she manages to look ridiculous, awful, crazy and slutty all at once! This ought to be some kind of world record. Lisamarie always makes fun of how I'm distracted by shiny objects - I've got a 3 seconds attention span - but do you blame me for being distracted by this? I'd like to point out: she's not just wearing a tin foil outfit, she's also wearing a crown made out of iPods! At least she spared us from her camel toe by wearing a skirt on top of that jumpsuit.  It's still mesmerizing, though. I love you Jordan  but perhaps that botox has gone to your brain head!

Drew Barrymore needs to fire her hair stylist AND her makeup artist. This is the type of makeup I put on my face was I was 6 years old. I know soft curls and bed hair are in right now ,  but this is just bad frizzy morning-after-alcohol-fuelled-Ibiza-party type of hair.

Phoebe Price is...you know, Phoebe Price! She manages to wear about 20 colors, patterns and textures all at once and that's a talent. I don't think I've got that much variety in my entire wardrobe. Next to Katie Price, she still looks understated, and it's scary. Phoebe: you even fail at being bad!

Golden Globes' Red Carpet: The Fungus Behind the Fashion

I'm not sure what's happening tonight on the Golden Globes' red carpet, but seriously what is it with all these weird dresses? Ruffles galore and dresses that look... diseased. Look at Kate Hudson, she looks gorgeous but what is going on with that dress? It's like something is growing on her thigh, ew.

I love Julianne Moore, but why is she wearing a grey sack?

Someone should tell Tea Leoni, this is an awards show, not a day at the office.

Another actress wearing a diseased dress. This time with a fungus-like design. And who in the world likes this color? Drew Barrymore still manages to look good, though.

A ruffled nightmare.

Sofia Vergara has a fantastic figure and this grey number is not particularly flattering, it looked even worse live on TV.
There wasn't too much color on the red carpet but a couple of actresses, including Cameron Diaz, went for red, and looked lovely.

All Pictures:AP

Toni Collette looked fantastic (and won a Golden Globe for best supporting actress in a TV series).

I wish I could find pictures of Sophia Loren, Helen Mirren and Jodie Foster who looked amazing in fitted black gowns...these "older" ladies still got it!

Update: I did find Helen Mirren's picture! Yay!
