The purpose of this contribution is firstly to say something about the relations between Gestalt theory and didactics and secondly to explain some assumptions and concepts of Gestalt theory which appear to be particularly important in the context of didactic considerations.

Das Anliegen dieses Beitrags ist es, erstens etwas zu den Beziehungen zwischen Gestalttheorie und Didaktik zu sagen und zweitens einige Annahmen und Begriffe der Gestalttheorie zu erliiutern, die im Rahmen didaktischer tlberlegungen besonders bedeutsam erscheinen.

How can we describe movements in animated films? In Figure and Force in Animation Aesthetics, Ryan Pierson introduces a powerful new method for the study of animation. By looking for figures--arrangements that seem to intuitively hold together--and forces--underlying units of attraction, repulsion, and direction--Pierson reveals startling new possibilities for animation criticism, history, and theory. Drawing on concepts from Gestalt psychology, Pierson offers a wide-ranging comparative study of four animation techniques--soft-edged forms, walk cycles, camera movement, and rotoscoping--as they appear in commercial, artisanal, and avant-garde works. In the process, through close readings of little-analyzed films, Pierson demonstrates that figures and forces make fertile resources for theoretical speculation, unearthing affinities between animation practice and such topics as the philosophy of mathematics, scientific and political revolution, and love. Beginning and ending with the imperative to look closely, Figure and Force in Animation Aesthetics is a performance in seeing the world of motion anew.

In this afterword to an important collection of essays that address the clinical aspects of the new phenomenology's concept of "atmospheres" in terms of psychopathology, I consider whether gestalt therapy may be an hospitable modality for these concerns.  I approach gestalt therapy as a clinical phenomenology and, as such, see many possible ways for the new phenomenology and gestalt therapy to critically engage one another.

I vissuti corporeo-relazionali in psico-oncologia:
la Gestalt Therapy oltre il limite del modello della Kübler-Ross
Analizzando i vissuti corporeo-relazionali nella triade paziente-familiari-curanti, l’autrice Paola Argentino presenta la prospettiva gestaltica in psico-oncologia.  In modo originale correla alcuni principi epistemologici della GT all’intervento clinico di psicologia sanitaria, individuando quattro aree: l’intercorporeità estetica, funzionale, cenestesica e liminare.  Evidenzia, infine, come la GT, fornendo strumenti clinici di sostegno specifico nel percorso di consapevolezza di malattia, supera i limiti del modello della Kübler-Ross, affinchè l’ultima fase della malattia non consista nell’accettazione della propria morte, ma nel raggiungere l’integrità e la pienezza di vita.

In recent debates on empathy in various disciplines, including philosophy, psychology, psychopathology, cognitive sciences, neurophysiology, the discussion has focused on empathic experiences within the intersubjective context, either between two individuals or among groups. But this is only one side of the coin. Since ancient times, subject-object and even object-object relationships were described in a way that cultural anthropology has defined as “animation”, that rhetorics has named “personification”, and that we would today call “empathic”. The chapter aims at exploring these objectual implications of empathy. Pinotti particularly criticizes the projective “hydraulic” model of communicating vessels–from subject to object–which builds the hermeneutical mainstream paradigm of any theorization of such relationships. With recourse to alternative theoretical perspectives, such as Gestalt theory of expression, “realistic” phenomenology, and theory of symbolic forms, the author proposes a newfound characterological approach that engages with acknowledging the originary expressive and pathemic character of things in themselves, and therefore in defending the fundamentum in re of objectual empathy.

Esta tese discute o trabalho psicoterápico da gestalt-terapia. Tem como foco seu
caráter de experimentação, buscando ampliar seu significado e seus
fundamentos epistemológicos. Os experimentos gestálticos nasceram no
contexto original da abordagem. Instituíram a experiência como forma de
ampliação da consciência, atendendo a uma mudança paradigmática que
pretendia oferecer uma compreensão da vivência humana a partir da visão
organísmica e holística. A partir de um diálogo com a fenomenologia de
Merleau-Ponty e com a arte de Lygia Clark, o trabalho pretende ampliar a
fundamentação fenomenológica da experimentação. O filósofo dedicou sua obra
ao tema das relações entre homem e mundo, buscando uma compreensão que
partia do mundo da experiência, de um a priori da correlação sujeito-objeto.
Situou o corpo como consciência e desenvolveu um viés de pensamento que
desembocou em uma ontologia do Ser. Este trabalho desenvolve um recorte das
propostas merleau-pontyanas e as coloca em diálogo com as noções de campo
organismo-ambiente, ajustamento criativo e agressão. Lygia Clark partiu da
vocação da arte moderna de unir arte e vida e desenvolveu um trabalho peculiar

Nel lavoro viene presentato uno schema di classificazione delle psicoterapie individuali quale strumento di analisi differenziale e filo conduttore all'interno dell'attuale panorama di principi e tecniche di psicoterapia. Principio strutturante della categorizzazione è l'aspetto della persona (esistenziale-cognitivo-emozionale-corporeo-comportamentale) che viene privilegiato dai vari modelli di psicoterapia nell'ermeneutica del disagio psichico e nelle tecniche d'intervento. Vengono poi presentate tre articolazioni (associazioni creative - modelli eclettici - meta-modelli) che raggiungono i vari approcci che lavorano su diversi aspetti della persona.

o psicólogo humanista americano, Carl Ransom Rogers
(1902-1987), fez ao Brasil, em 1977, permitiu que se experimentasse
mesmo um encontro, no sentido mais genuíno

A consciência é o que torna o problema mente-corpo
realmente intratável. Talvez seja por isso que as discussões
atuais dão tão pouca atenção ou tratam o problema
de forma enviesada. A recente onda de euforia reducionista
produziu diversas análises do fenômeno mental,
assim como conceitos mentais que ensaiavam explicar
a possibilidade de algumas variações de materialismo,
identificação psicofísica ou reducionismo2.

In this paper the long-established Gestalt laws of cognitive organisation are employed as a tool to map the complex realm of rhetorical tropes, which have been organised in a number of other ways since the days of Aristotle's pioneering treatise on rhetoric. By
mapping rhetorical tropes in this manner, this paper substantiates the claim that Gestalt psychology can work qua descriptive science of cognitive phenomena at large, for such a mapping provides an exemplary and extensive application of Gestalt laws within afield of
investigation, i.e. rhetorical tropes, that is relevant to all forms of human communication, scientific ones included. (The article is not uploaded because of COPYRIGHT limitations)

The study of visual Gestalten can be defined broadly as all activity that seeks an answer to Koffka’s famous question: “Why do things look as they do?” Within this larger framework a more narrowly defined scientific project is possible, aimed at the mechanisms of visual experience, and thus asking the question: “How do the things look as they do?” This project is providing an interface between phenomenology and neuroscience, which renders it uniquely positioned to counter more or less naïve misconceptions about our phenomenology with empirical evidence, and confront psychology and the neurosciences with the primacy of holistic features in perceptual awareness. The implications of this project are illustrated with an earlier-published experimental study, involving the perceptual aspects of developmental dyslexia.

Este estudo surgiu da necessidade de responder a uma demanda por um
trabalho psicoterapêutico de curta duração para os clérigos católicos.
Elegeu-se a Gestalt-terapia como suporte teórico para o desenvolvimento
de elementos que fundamentassem tal trabalho psicoterapêutico. Esta tese
foi escrita a partir de dois referenciais estreitamente interligados: 1) um
estudo teórico sobre a abordagem gestáltica e a Gestalt-terapia de Curta
Duração, bem como sobre a população em questão; 2) uma prática clínica
que orientou a busca teórica ao mesmo tempo em que se orientava por
ela.
Uma vez apresentados alguns dos fundamentos da abordagem gestáltica,
desenvolveu-se uma visão de homem, a qual deu sustentação a uma
compreensão da simbologia religiosa, da religião e da religiosidade
humanas sob a ótica da Gestalt-terapia. Propôs-se, para o gestaltterapeuta,
uma nova postura diante da religiosidade de seus clientes,
baseada em uma interpretação restauradora dos conteúdos simbólicos
desta religiosidade.
Propôs-se uma maneira de atuação psicoterapêutica baseada na Gestaltterapia
de Curta Duração através da discussão de seus principais
fundamentos: seus objetivos, as estratégias terapêuticas básicas, o foco, o
diagnóstico e a relação terapêutica, dentre outras questões que delimitam
e consolidam este tipo de trabalho.
Caracterizou-se o clero enquanto população para a psicoterapia com base

A psicologia da religião mostra, por meio de seus atuais
expoentes, a necessidade premente de uma perspectiva
interdisciplinar para enfrentar os desafios do mundo
contemporâneo em que, paradoxalmente, ao lado da
secularização assistimos a uma busca intensa, por parte
das pessoas, tanto de desenvolvimento da religiosidade
como de inserção em instituições religiosas. Imbuído de
tal propósito, o GT Psicologia & Religião da ANPEPP, em
parceria com o Programa de Mestrado e Doutorado em
Psicologia da Universidade Católica de Brasília (UCB), realizou
em Brasília, em outubro de 2012, o VIII Seminário
de Psicologia & Senso Religioso. A exemplo do ocorrido em
seminários anteriores, os coordenadores do evento, Marta
Helena de Freitas (UCB) e Geraldo José de Paiva (USPSP),
com a colaboração de Célia de Moraes (Arkamatra),
organizaram uma obra com os trabalhos apresentados no
evento, desta feita resultando em dois volumes: “Psicologia
da Religião no Mundo Ocidental Contemporâneo: Desafios
da Interdisciplinaridade”, recentemente publicados pela
Editora da Universidade Católica de Brasília.

Resumo: A conciliação é o meio mais eficaz de resolução dos conflitos judiciais por ser ato voluntário, ser menos oneroso e
mais rápido, além de possibilitar a restauração do relacionamento. No conflito judicial existe uma dificuldade na comunicação
entre aos conflitantes, em virtude da ansiedade, medo, confusão e perturbação na percepção dos fatos, sendo imprescindível
a intervenção de um terceiro habilitado para atuar como conciliador. O presente estudo, extraído da revisão da literatura,
inova apresentando a metodologia da Conciliação Humanista, fundamentada na teoria da Abordagem Centrada na Pessoa de
Carl Rogers, que habilita o magistrado como facilitador do diálogo, orientando-o para a adoção de atitudes de empatia, aceitação
incondicional e genuinidade. O conciliador humanista oportuniza a fala a cada participante, escuta ativamente e de forma
genuína cada um, repudia julgamentos ou críticas às falas expressadas, age com empatia e autenticidade, em um clima de cooperação
e mutualidade. Nas considerações finais se convida para um repensar sobre as posturas adotadas pelos magistrados
durante a proposta conciliatória, sugerindo uma qualificação na atividade jurisdicional, para favorecer a liberdade de pensamento,
o fluir da fala e a escuta ativa dos jurisdicionados, facilitando escolhas conscientes e responsáveis como resultado da
retomada do diálogo.

In questo contributo viene descritto un modello di intervento terapeutico e riabilitativo, sviluppato dall’Autrice, per i pazienti psichiatrici gravi nella prima comunità terapeutica assistita del dipartimento salute mentale di Siracusa, Italia, seguendo le basi epistemologiche della Gestalt Therapy. Viene analizzata la novità del Modello Gestaltico Comunitario nel percorso storico dal moral treatment all’antipsichiatria e gli elementi di differenza con il primo modello di comunità proposto da M. Jones. La metodologia clinica segue le fasi evolutive spazio-temporali del ciclo dell’esperienza di contatto di ogni ospite all’interno della Comunità, tenendo conto delle funzioni del Sé e degli strumenti di intervento terapeutici possibili, dal clima relazionale al significato del farmaco assunto. Attenzione viene data anche alla prevenzione del burn-out degli operatori sanitari e sociali che lavorano in comunità.

La autora analiza el significado relacional del fármaco desde el punto de vista de la Gestalt Therapy, señalando como, más allá de las específicas cualidades del fármaco, la prescripción asume valor terapéutico por el contexto relacional en el que la modalidad en que se sitúa el médico y el paciente se declinan y se desarrollan (tiempos y modos de contacto). La prescripción del fármaco se inscribe por tanto dentro del horizonte relacional en el que de vez en cuando obtiene significado y perspectiva de intervención. Conscientes de que la respuesta global al sufrimiento lleva a resultados terapéuticos más eficaces y duraderos en el tiempo, mirar el proceso terapéutico en su “globalidad relacional” permite la integración de las distintas intervenciones de psicoterapia y de psicofarmacología, con una acción no combinada sino sinérgica.

Falar em psicoterapia de curta duração ainda soa
como novidade. Contudo, percebe-se que a procura por
psicoterapias que sejam úteis e em um tempo relativamente
curto tem aumentado. Isto se dá, muitas vezes,
em função do preço de um tratamento a longo prazo e do
estilo de vida que assinala nossa cultura. Atento a esta
demanda, Enio Brito Pinto propõe sua colaboração no
que diz respeito à psicoterapia de curta duração à luz da
Abordagem Gestáltica.

Resumo: O texto apresenta a construção da fenomenologia em torno de uma teoria do conhecimento. Principia pelo contexto filosófico do surgimento da fenomenologia, apontando as relações entre a perspectiva de Husserl e a Teoria do Conhecimento de Hermann Cohen. Faz um relato das principais obras de Husserl, destacando sua progressão, de uma crítica ao psicologismo à estruturação de uma fenomenologia transcendental, até alcançar temas como o corpo e o mundo-da-vida. O texto apresenta os principais conceitos da fenomenologia, situando-a como uma filosofia rigorosa.

There is a widespread belief in the academic world—above all in the United States and in the scientific communities around the world accepting U.S. mainstream science as their standard —that »schools« have lost their grounds and their legitimacy in psychology and other sciences.

»Schools of thought« are seen as hampering freedom of thought and research, progress in science would have a better chance when free of such affiliations, and »objectivity« in science is seen to be best granted by some sort of disinterested eclecticism.

There are mainly two arguments that have been put forward against such a belief:

The first argument is that what is called »disinterested eclecticism« is a school in itself and its claim of leaving all schools behind may well be seen as nothing other than the claim of hegemony and monopoly for this very own school.

The second argument is that schools do not only still exist, but that they continue to have legitimate reasons for their existence because their
potential—when handled correctly—is capable of outweighing the problems that might be connected to them.

Eine Auswahl an Forschungsergebnissen rund um die Thematik des Umgangs mit Erinnerungen an Träume in der Psychotherapie – umgangsprachlich überwiegend „Arbeiten mit Träumen“ genannt – soll einesteils einen Einblick in die aktuelle Forschungslandschaft gewähren, zum anderen zur Selbstreflexion anregen. Persönliche wie berufliche Erfahrungen können dabei mit der einen oder anderen Darstellung abgeglichen werden und möglicherweise gestalttheoretisch-psychotherapeutisch relevante Forschungsfragen aufwerfen.

Gestalt psychology, with its concepts of the dynamics of tension systems and the formation of isolated subsystems dating back to Kurt Lewin, offers a dynamic approach to explaining the occurrence of intrusions and flashbacks without reducing such phenomena to the consequence of trauma.

Zusammenfassung:

Die Gestaltpsychologie bietet mit den auf Kurt Lewin zurückgehenden Konzepten der Dynamik von Spannungssystemen und der Herausbildung isolierter Teilsysteme einen dynamischen Erklärungsansatz für das Auftreten von Intrusionen und Flashbacks, ohne solche Phänomene auf Traumafolgen zu reduzieren.

Summary

For Gestalt psychology and Gestalt Theoretical Psychotherapy the "top-down approach" is characteristic. The article elaborates the four meanings in which one can refer to this: On the one hand one can speak of "top-down" referring to the holistic nature of the process of human perception and experience - that is, that perception and behavior proceed from the top down, from the whole to the details. Secondly one can speak of "top-down" referring to a procedure chosen for the investigation and assessment of a person, a behavior, a psychological process, a state of suffering, or a therapeutic technique, where such an approach usually proves to be superior to the "bottom-up" approach. Thirdly the "top-down" procedure can also be seen as the basic orientation for influencing psychic events also in psychotherapeutic practice: Trying to act on wholes is given preference over acting on isolated facts or behaviors. Fourth, and finally, there is the priority of holism in interpersonal encounter, which is an essential basis of constructive coexistence between people.

Zusammenfassung

Für die Gestalttheorie und die Gestalttheoretische Psychotherapie ist das „Vorgehen von oben nach unten“ kennzeichnend. Der Artikel arbeitet die vier Bedeutungen heraus, in denen davon sinnvoll die Rede sein kann. Zum einen geht es um die Tatsache der Ganzheitlichkeit menschlichen Wahrnehmens und Erlebens – dass also das Wahrnehmen und Verhalten von sich aus „von oben nach unten“, vom Ganzen zu den
Einzelheiten vorgehen. Zum zweiten wird dieses Vorgehen „von oben nach unten“ auch für das Herangehen an die Untersuchung und Einschätzung einer Person, einer Verhaltensweise, eines psychischen Vorgangs, eines Leidenszustandes oder einer therapeutischen Technik vorgeschlagen, wo sich diese Vorgangsweise in der Regel als überlegen gegenüber dem Vorgehen „von unten nach oben“ erweist. Zum dritten stellt das Vorgehen „von oben nach unten“ auch eine Grundorientierung jeder Einwirkung auf psychisches Geschehen dar, auch in der psychotherapeutischen Arbeit: Der Einwirkung auf Geschehensganzheiten wird der Vorzug gegeben vor der Einwirkung auf vereinzelte Sachverhalte oder Verhaltensweisen. Zum vierten schließlich geht es darüber hinaus um den Vorrang der Ganzheitlichkeit in der zwischenmenschlichen Begegnung, die eine wesentliche Grundlage konstruktiven Zusammenlebens von Menschen darstellt.

Summary: The article compares theoetical background and therapeutic aims of two therapeutic interventions, psychodramatic role playing and the empty chair technique in Gestalt therapy. Both interventions are used also in Gestalt Theoretical Psychotherapy in a specific Gestalt psychological understanding.
Zusammenfassung: Theoretische Hintergründe und
therapeutische Zielsetzungen zweier bekannter Interventionstechniken, nämlich der psychodramatischen „szenischen Darstellung“ und des gestalttherapeutischen „Dialoges mit dem leeren Stuhl“, die beide auch im integrativen Ansatz der Gestalttheoretischen Psychotherapie Anwendung finden, werden dargestellt. Dabei soll besonders die Ähnlichkeit beider Techniken in ihren therapeutischen Auswirkungen betont werden, auch wenn sich die therapeutischen Ansätze, in denen diese Techniken entwickelt
haben, in ihren theoretischen Konzepten unterscheiden.

Nicht immer lassen sich Erleben und Verhalten der Person allein aus ihren eigenen Bedürfnissen und Bestrebungen im Rahmen ihrer persönlichen Möglichkeiten verstehen. Es gibt auch Situationen und Bereiche, in denen ihr Tun und Lassen davon bestimmt ist, was dem Willen anderer entspricht – und den diesen anderen zugeschriebenen Möglichkeiten. Sie befindet sich dann, um mit Kurt Lewin zu sprechen, im Machtfeld dieser anderen. Nicht immer handelt es sich dabei um
Menschen - unter gewissen Umständen können auch nicht-menschliche
Lebewesen und Wesenheiten, Gegenstände und Sachverhalte, oder Unpersönliches wie sachliche Konstellationen, Ideologien oder Institutionen mit solchen Machtfeldern in unserem Lebensraum wirken.
Wir finden aber nicht nur die Wirkungen fremder Machtfelder vor, sondern auch die unseres eigenen Machtfeldes in unserer erlebten Umwelt. Unterschiedliche Wechselwirkungen des eigenen Machtfeldes mit fremden Machtfeldern zeigen sich im Erleben und Verhalten.
Das theoretische Konzept der Machtfelder geht auf Kurt Lewin und seine MitarbeiterInnen zurück. Es fand bisher zu wenig Beachtung, weil es zu Lebzeiten Lewins nicht mehr voll ausgearbeitet wurde und im deutschsprachigen Raum durch unangemessene Übersetzungen
weitgehend unterging. Der erste Teil des Artikels rekonstruiert dieses Konzept in den Grundzügen – vorwiegend anhand von Beispielen aus Arbeiten der Gruppe um Lewin. Im zweiten Teil (nächstes Heft) werden Möglichkeiten der Nutzung des Konzepts im psychotherapeutischen Feld diskutiert.

The talk presents and discusses some still current findings from the Berlin experimental research program of Kurt Lewin's group (Zeigarnik, Ovsiankina, Lissner, Sliosberg, Mahler, J.F. Brown...).This experimental foundation of Lewin's theory of systems in tension, the field-theoretical counterpart to Freud's drive theory, can still give us important suggestions and insights in many areas of research and application today.

Von der 16. Öffentlichen Fachtagung der DGGO in Berlin, 18.-20.6.2015, "Feldkräfte – Was bewegt Menschen, Gruppen und Organisationen? ".
Der Vortrag präsentiert einige Befunde aus dem nach wie vor aktuellen Berliner experimentellen Forschungsprogramm der Gruppe um Kurt Lewin (Zeigarnik, Ovsiankina, Lissner, Sliosberg, Mahler, J.F. Brown...). Mit diesen Forschungsarbeiten wurde Kurt Lewins feldtheoretisches Konzept der Spannungssysteme begründet und entwickelt, das Gegenstück zu Freuds Triebtheorie. Sie können uns auch heute noch vielfältige Anregungen für die Forschungs- und Anwendungspraxis auf vielen Gebieten geben.

The Intuion can suddenly strike us like a flash of genius, without us being able to say how it came about. In psychotherapy, intuitive processes are of great importance in that they can give valuable insights to psychotherapists and clients. Intuion can be a sudden insight, a "feeling" or a hunch. Carl G. Jung and Ruth C. Cohn initially deal with the phenomenon of intuition from a psychoanalytical point of view. The presentation of their views is followed in this article by an explanation of the meaning of creative problem-solving processes in the sense of product thinking according to Max Wertheimer, intuitive perception, as well as the intuitive recording of situations and actions from a Gestalt-theoretical point of view. Since intuition can also deceive us, it is finally explained how intuitive abilities can be trained and promoted according to Ruth Cohn.

Die Intuition kann uns plötzlich wie ein Geistesblitz treffen, ohne dass wir sagen können, wie dieser zustande gekommen ist. In der Psychotherapie haben intuitive Vorgänge eine große Bedeutung, indem sie der Psychotherapeutin und der Klientin wertvolle Erkenntnisse vermitteln können. Intuition kann sich als plötzliche Einsicht, als „Gespür“ oder als Ahnung zeigen. Carl G. Jung und Ruth C. Cohn setzen sich zunächst aus psychoanalytischer Sicht mit dem Phänomen der Intuition auseinander. An die Darstellung ihrer Auffassungen schließt sich in diesem Beitrag, auch an Hand von Beispielen, die Erläuterung der Bedeutung von kreativen Problemlöseprozessen im Sinne des produktiven Denkens nach Max Wertheimer, des intuitiven Wahrnehmens, sowie des intuitiven Erfassens von Situationen und Handeln aus gestalttheoretischer Sicht. Da uns die Intuition auch täuschen kann, wird schließlich dargelegt, wie nach Ruth Cohn intuitive Fähigkeiten geschult und gefördert werden können.

Resumo: O texto discute a história da psicoterapia de grupo, destacando suas transformações até o surgimento dos grupos
gestálticos. A história da psicoterapia de grupo revela sua evolução sócio-pedagógica. As primeiras propostas, eminentemente
didáticas, exortativas e repressivas, foram seguidas pela inclusão da psicanalíse, permitindo
a ampliação do enfoque sobre
o indivíduo para uma perspectiva interpessoal, que enfatizava o grupo como uma “família”. O texto destaca o advento das
propostas de Moreno, Adler, Burrow, Bierer, Lewin e Rogers, que criaram um vasto campo de atuação entre as psicoterapias
humanistas, caracterizadas como “pedagogias da vida”, voltadas aos recursos disponíveis nos grupos. É neste contexto que
podemos incluir a gestalt-
terapia, apesar de alguns limites quanto às suas iniciativas
grupais, pelo menos na prática de seu
criador, Frederick Perls, e de alguns de seus seguidores. Para além de sua formação psicanalítica, Perls incorporou, a partir
de sua própria experiência, uma série de influências, que vão desde o teatro
expressionista ao zen-budismo, passando pela
análise do caráter, o psicodrama, até a fenomenologia e o existencialismo. Perls, que se considerava
um psicanalista medíocre,
criou uma abordagem viva, que, hoje, integra o rol dos referenciais psicológicos mais reconhecidos,
particularmente no
que se refere às práticas grupais.

Summary:

Gestalt theoretical developmental psychology has always seen the infant as an active being. Current research findings support this view. In addition, they show that the investigations of the mother-child dyad, as they were common in classical attachment research, represent only a part of the child's relationship experiences. In fact, attachment behavior is organized within a much more comprehensive process, the development of interpersonal communication. Already at the age of three months the child is active in a triadic (tripartite) field. It perceives not only a single counterpart, but also the characteristics of the interactions in the parental subsystem.

Zusammenfassung:

Die gestalttheoretische Entwicklungspsychologie sah den Säugling von jeher als aktives Wesen. Die aktuellen Erkenntnisse der Forschung stützen diese Sichtweise. Darüber hinaus zeigen sie, dass die Untersuchungen der Mutter-Kind-Dyade, wie sie in der klassischen Bindungsforschung gebräuchlich waren, nur einen Teil der Beziehungserfahrungen des Kindes abbilden. Tatsächlich organisiert sich das Bindungsverhalten im Rahmen eines viel umfassenderen Prozesses, nämlich dem der Entwicklung der zwischenmenschlichen Kommunikation. Schon im Alter von drei Monaten ist das Kind in einem triadischen (dreigliedrigen) Feld aktiv. Es nimmt nicht nur jeweils ein einzelnes Gegenüber wahr, sondern auch die Eigenschaften der Interaktionen im elterlichen Subsystem.

This qualitative study explores the preparation pastors need to support mentally ill
congregational members. The unit of analysis was Missouri Synod Lutheran pastors. The
theoretical framework was Maslow’s Transpersonal Theory. Three research questions
guided the study: What were Missouri Synod Lutheran pastors taught, pre-ordination,
about mental illness? How were Missouri Synod Lutheran pastors taught, pre-ordination,
about supporting congregants who are mentally ill? What pre-ordination preparation would
Missouri Synod Lutheran pastors recommend for supporting congregants with mental
illness? Data sources were archival data, questionnaires, and individual interviews. Eight
themes were generated: 1) Pre-ordination pastors were taught very little about mental
illness. 2) Pre-ordination pastors had one class in which anxiety or depression were
sometimes discussed. 3) The subject of mental illness was not a focus of pre-ordination
training. 4) When taught about supporting congregants who are mentally ill, seminarians
were taught through some role play. 5) Missouri Synod Lutheran pastors were taught, preordination, through the use of one book usually a counseling book. 6) Missouri Synod
Lutheran pastors were taught, pre-ordination, that vicarage was the place to gain
experience. 7) Missouri Synod Lutheran Pastors recommend pre-ordination preparation
surrounding education about mental illness. 8) Missouri Synod Lutheran Pastors
recommend pre-ordination preparation that includes networking with experienced pastors
to learn better support systems for congregation members who are mentally ill.
