CL-Ed Yeah there has been a big solar flare over the past week or two. We had the southern lights here in Australia last week too. Normally it can only be seen far south in Tasmania but it was visible further north in Victoria too. Sydney missed out because it was raining so much that the skies were all cloudy.
I'm so jealous that you got to see it for yourself! It is definitely something I want to see live in my lifetime.

WaroftheGods That's one thing I miss about living in a small town and the country. I've been living right in the city of Calgary for the last 10 years or more. With all the lights the northern lights aren't visible and even a sky full of stars is very dull.
