BetMGM Goes Live in Washington DC

After a wait, the BetMGM mobile sportsbetting product has gone live in Washington DC, marking the 29th market that the service is available in.

The launch comes after DC's City Council approved of the operation as part of the District's 2024 fiscal budget. The move is the latest for BetMGM in DC, as the group has a retail location near Nationals Park, home to the MLB's Washington Nationals. The product will allow gamblers to place bets on sporting events around the world if they're 21 years or older and physically located in Washington DC at the time of the bet.

In addition to the app's betting abilities, players will see their accounts tied to the MGM Resorts and Mariott Bonvoy rewards program. This program lets gamblers earn points based on their play activity, which can then be redeemed for credits or experiences at associated resort properties.

Players who want to use the service can do so by downloading an app through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Desktop support is included via a web browser.

This is the latest expansion for the BetMGM brand, which has been working hard to establish itself in the UK betting market. The company recently announced that it had signed a sponsorship agreement with Tottenham Hotspur, as well as with Newcastle United.
