Pennsylvania Announces October Gaming Revenues

Today Pennsylvania's Gaming Control Board announced that they've released the state's October betting numbers, with revenues jumping in most key areas.

Total gambling revenues were up 7.3% to $483 million when compared to last year, while also up 1.4% from the month prior. Slots were responsible for 40% of revenues, coming in at $192.5 million, although this was down 3.3% from last year. Table game revenues were up 2% to $81.5 million. Video gaming terminal revenues dropped 4% to $3.4 million, while fantasy sports revenue was also down 4.3% to $2.7 million.

Sportsbetting handle set an all-time record for the month, coming in at $797.1 million. Revenues from the activity were also up, jumping 18.8% to $48.2 million. $43.1 million of that total came from online sportsbetting, while $5.1 million was land-based.

Online gaming revenues were up 24.3% to $154.8 million from last year, although were down from the $159.5 million recorded in September. Online slot revenues were 27.2% to $109.8 million, while internet table game revenues were up 19.4% to $42.6 million. Internet poker revenues dropped 5.8% to $2.3 million.

The best-performing online casino was Hollywood Casino at Penn National, with revenues of $62.2 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort was next with $35.4 million, while Rivers Casino Philadelphia rounded out the top three at $29.3 million.
