Internet gaming group bgo has been fined £300,000 by the UK Gambling Commission for having misleading advertising on its own and its affiliates' websites.
The fine was levied due to the site having nine offending ads that were on the group's site itself, and 14 more spots that were promoted on affiliate sites. The spots were found to breach the group's social responsibility codes, and the regulator had long been investigating the group, making them clearly state significant limitations and qualifications. That didn't take place, which led to the large fine.
The fine is the largest that the UKGC levied for related behavior, and they have urged other operators in their jurisdiction to heed the warning and to keep their behavior in check.

I hope that this will be a good lesson for them. I really dislike misleading information about promotions so I understand that you can get punishment for actions like these.
Really serious amount for a fine but I could just guess that it was deserved, I found UK gambling commission to be pretty harsh at times but can't say if this was the case this time.
