A Doppelganger is a strange creature created by Chaos.[1]
Nature
Solitary beings, they posesses the ability to transform into any other humanoid creature between 4 and 8 feet tall - even replicating their clothes and equipment. After assuming that identity, they then murder and devour the entity to assume their place in the world. Although they can duplicate their speech and mannerisms they can not reproduce any magical nature or abilities. Once transformed they are almost impossible to identify even with Magic. [1]
It is said that they can not reproduce and are produced entirely by the power of Chaos. [1]
