Abstract

 コンストラスト比の向上を図ることができる表示装置を提供すること。  表示パネル2側に光源24からの光を照射して画像表示がなされる表示装置1において、表示パネル2の背面側に配される非発光時に透明な透明ELシート30と、光源24からの光を表示パネル2側に反射する反射シート40と、表示パネル2の画像表示を制御する表示制御部18aと、透明ELシート30の発光を制御する発光制御部18bとを備えると共に、発光制御部18bが透明ELシート30の少なくとも一部の面を表示制御部18aが制御する表示パネル2の画像表示に対応して発光させて、その発光させた光を光源24からの光および反射シート40からの反射光と共に表示パネル2に照射する。
