Abstract

PURPOSE:To limit the power consumption of a bias resistance only in starting, by applying the switching power supply to a control circuit through a capacitor and a resistance and by making the tertiary winding of a voltage-converting transformer a feeding source in a steady operation. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 2 is turned ON, input voltage is applied as a differential waveform to a resistance 5 through a capacitor 3. The pulse will rise in the time constants of the resistance 5 and a bypass capacitor 7 at an input terminal of a control circuit 8, where the voltage clamped by the clamping voltage of a Zener diode 6 is applied. With the control circuit 8 a converter is actuated to raise the output voltage. When the charging of the capacitor 3 goes ahead and no clamping current of the Zener diode 6 can be maintained, the voltage of the control circuit 8 begins to sag and an ordinary operation is restored.
