Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain optimum value of injection amount of a flocculating agent for the fluctuation of water quality and to obtain good floc formation by introducing a part of inflow rate water into a pilot tank and performing the injection of the flocculating agent and agitation and analyzing the degree of flocculation of formed floc and obtaining the optimum rate of injection of the flocculating agent. CONSTITUTION:A part of inflow raw water is introduced into a pilot tank 13 with a sampling pump 12, injected 14 with a flocculating agent and agitated to form microfloc. The degree of flocculation of microfloc is analyzed 15 and an injection rate of flocculant is calculated 16 from the measured result to optimally control the service water. By this setup, the injected amount thereof is determined by the state of floc in comparison with a feedforward system in which the cumulative data for many years in the purification plant analyzed and some constant is specified to the rate of injection and therefore the optimum control for injecting the flocculating agent is enabled even at a time of fluctuation of water quality and the flocculating agent is conserved and floc is favorably formed.
