Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the deterioration in performance due to the discontinuity of leading out a microstrip line by arranging a tri-plate line between a waveguide and microstrip line. CONSTITUTION:Center conductor 11 is sandwiched in between dielectric plates 12 and 13, which are sandwiched in between earth conductors 14 and 15 to form a tri- plate line. Magnetic field 19 propagating through the waveguide turns into magnetic field 20 using in common ridge lines 16 and 17 provided to earth conductors 14 and 15 and propagates; after a signal is excited by conductor 11, it becomes magnetic field mode 21 and propagates through the tri-plate line to be converted into magnetic field 22 by microstrip line 18 before being outputted from terminal 23. Since the distributions of magnetic fields 19 to 22 are nearly equal, it can be converted smoothly.
