Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the mass production of decorative bentwood with the direct utilization of natural grain of wood and without the waste and decrease in strength of a material. SOLUTION: Wood is sliced by a non-saw type blade into numbers of thin plates to make a veneer group 1-1 a similar veneer group 1-2 is prepared occasionally using another type of wood, and after these plates is coated or impregnated with an adhesive, the veneer groups, the same groups are occasionally put together into the same block, are bent-molded.

2. Description of the Related Art Furniture and many other wooden products have a bent shape. As a method for making this, that is, a bent woodworking method, conventionally, raw wood is carved / polished into a curved surface or timber is cut. It is steamed as it is to bend it forcibly, or it is peeled from the outer circumference of the log toward the core to a certain thickness to make a rotary veneer called round peeling, which is stacked and molded, or wood flour is bent with resin. The method of hardening it was taken.

In such a conventional method, in order to make a bent tree that reproduces the natural wood grain, the raw wood must be engraved as it is on the curved surface or forcedly bent. In the former case, Since the size of the raw wood is limited, it can be created only within that limited range, it takes a lot of work, and at the same time the loss of the deleted part is large, and if the curvature becomes large, the same grain cannot be maintained and it easily breaks. Even in the latter case, even if steaming is performed, its size and curvature are limited, and cracks etc. occur during bending, resulting in considerable defective products, so much of the valuable timber is wasted. .

In addition, the stacking of rotary veneers by the above-mentioned round stripping disturbs the essential wood grain, and even if this is bent together with an adhesive, the original natural woody characteristics are fully utilized. It was impossible. It is an object of the present invention to solve the above problems and to provide a bending woodworking method that is extremely free and lean, and that allows natural wood grain to be fully utilized.

[Means for Solving the Problems] A method of thinly slicing wood with a blade without using a so-called saw is called planing, and the thin plate thus obtained is called a sliced veneer for furniture or It is commonly used as a "sticking plate" for surface materials in building materials. In the present invention, this is not considered as an independent single plate, but the first purpose is to use it as a "group" that retains the arrangement order.

That is, as shown in FIG. 1, a lumber (a) in the shape of a square wood is sliced into a plurality of thin plates (single plate or attached plate) in order by a blade that is not a sawtooth to form a single plate group (1-1). After adhering to or impregnating a broad-sense adhesive on the sheet, the veneer group (1-1) stacked in the order of arrangement when slicing
Bending is performed as shown in FIG. 2 by applying an appropriate force.

At this time, for mass production, it is desirable to impregnate a thermosetting resin such as urea resin as an adhesive, and then pressurize and heat with a bending mold at the same time, and after bending and drying. Edges and corners are appropriately removed to finish it into a predetermined shape.

In this way, a single piece of wood (a) is sliced, and a required number of pieces are taken out from above to obtain a veneer group (1-1).
May be molded into a product, but in some cases another wood is sliced in the same manner to prepare a veneer group (1-2) in which the order is maintained. Group (1
-1) (1-2) and the like may be brought into contact with each other together with the adhered or impregnated adhesive, and may be bent and formed into the same mass as shown in FIG. By doing so, it is possible to make a bent tree with a high decorativeness as if different trees were integrated.

[Function] When sliced by a blade instead of cutting by a normal saw, there is no part to be lost as chips, so if the slices are stacked without changing the arrangement order, the grain (2)
Is reproduced as it is without being divided at all. When this is impregnated with a thermosetting resin or the like and is bent and deformed, a slight displacement occurs at the boundary surface of each veneer, which makes it possible to realize a large curvature, but at that time the grain ( The deviation in 2) is evenly dispersed little by little, so that even after bending, it does not appear to be divided by the naked eye, and the appearance is as if the natural wood grain was utilized as it was. However, when the thin plates using a saw are piled up, the lost chips appear in the form of the cut wood grain (2), and when this is bent and formed, some parts are connected with the wood grain while other parts are marked. They will be separated and the original natural grain feeling will be severely impaired.

Further, in the case of planing in the present invention, unlike the case of round stripping, wood grain such as grain can be arbitrarily selected, so that a single plate group (1-1) aligned in the same fiber direction is formed. Therefore, the fibers are aligned in the same direction even after bending, which is very advantageous in terms of strength.

[Example 1] Pre-boiled birch squares were sliced continuously at a thickness of 1 mm, about 50 sheets of which were impregnated with urea resin, and a thermosetting mold was used to obtain a thickness of about 5 cm and a length. About 50

[Example 2] Separately from the above example, a single plate group obtained by similarly slicing oak timber was prepared, similarly dried and impregnated with resin and colored, and brought into close proximity to the single plate group of the above example and simultaneously applied. It is pressed and heat-molded to be integrated, and then subjected to appropriate secondary processing to form a decorative portion of bent wood.

As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to mass-produce a full-scale bent wood that makes the best use of natural wood grain, and at that time, a large amount of waste of material occurs, cracking and strength occur. Without causing deterioration, it is easy to obtain highly decorative products such as composite products with other wood.
It has a great effect.
