Description
燃料電池は、燃料極としてのアノード電極と酸化剤極としてのカソード電極とによって電解質膜を挟んで構成されている。燃料電池は、アノード電極に供給される水素を含有するアノードガス(燃料ガス)及びカソード電極に供給される酸素を含有するカソードガス(燃料ガス)を用いて発電する。アノード電極及びカソード電極の両電極において進行する電極反応は、以下の通りである。
カソード電極: 4H++4e-+O2 → 2H2O ・・・(2)
これら(1)、(2)の電極反応によって、燃料電池は1V(ボルト)程度の起電力を生じる。
図7を参照して、本発明の第2実施形態による燃料電池10について説明する。以下の実施形態では、第1実施形態と同じ機能を果たす構成等には同一の符号を用い、重複する説明を適宜省略する。
図8を参照して、本発明の第3実施形態による燃料電池10について説明する。以下の実施形態では、第1実施形態と同じ機能を果たす構成等には同一の符号を用い、重複する説明を適宜省略する。
Claims (6)
- 電解質膜及び電極層からなる膜電極接合体と、前記膜電極接合体の外周に沿って配置されるフレーム部と、前記膜電極接合体に燃料ガスを供給するためのガス流路を有するセパレータと、を備え、前記膜電極接合体を一対の前記セパレータで挟むことにより構成される燃料電池であって、
前記セパレータは、接着剤を介して前記フレーム部に接合される接着領域を有し、かつ当該接着領域内において前記セパレータと前記フレーム部との間の距離を他の接着領域と 比べて短くする絞り部を備え、
前記セパレータの接着領域は、前記フレーム部との間における接着剤厚さが略一定となる平坦部と、前記フレーム部との間における接着剤厚さが前記平坦部よりも薄くなり、前記絞り部として機能する突出部と、を有する、
燃料電池。 - 請求項1に記載の燃料電池であって、
前記セパレータの接着領域には、前記膜電極接合体寄りの内側位置から外側に向かう内外方向に、複数の前記突出部が設けられる、
燃料電池。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の燃料電池であって、
少なくとも一つの前記突出部が、前記接着領域の中心よりも内側の位置と、前記接着領 域の中心よりも外側の位置とのそれぞれに設けられる、
燃料電池。 - 請求項1から3のいずれか一つに記載の燃料電池であって、
前記セパレータは、前記膜電極接合体の一方の面側に配置されるアノードセパレータと 、前記膜電極接合体の他方の面側に配置されるカソードセパレータと、を含み、
前記アノードセパレータの前記突出部と、前記カソードセパレータの前記突出部とは、前記フレーム部を挟んで向かい合う位置に設けられる、
燃料電池。 - 請求項1から3のいずれか一つに記載の燃料電池であって、
前記セパレータは、前記膜電極接合体の一方の面側に配置されるアノードセパレータと 、前記膜電極接合体の他方の面側に配置されるカソードセパレータと、を含み、
前記アノードセパレータの前記突出部と、前記カソードセパレータの前記突出部とは、内外方向にずらした位置に設けられる、
燃料電池。 - 請求項1から5のいずれか一つに記載の燃料電池であって、
前記セパレータは、前記接着領域よりも内外方向における内側又は外側に、当該セパレータとは異なるセパレータに当接する当接部を備え、
前記当接部と前記フレーム部との間隔は、前記接着領域における前記セパレータと前記 フレーム部との間隔よりも大きく設定される、
