Description
公知の高強度ステンレス鋼と比較して強度と切欠き延性と靭性とを兼ね備えたより優れた特性を発揮する耐食性合金の必要性は、本発明に依る析出硬化型マルテンサイ系ステンレス鋼によって実質的に満たされる。本発明に依る合金は、特別な加工熱処理を必要としないで、高い強度と切欠き延性と破壊靭性と耐食性とを兼ね備えた特性を発揮する超強力析出硬化型ステンレス鋼である。本発明に係る鋼合金の質量%で示した広範な成分範囲,中間成分範囲及び好適な成分範囲は、下記の通りである。
酸化環境下で適切な程度の耐食性を発揮するべく、本発明に依る析出硬化型ステンレス鋼合金は、少なくとも9%、好ましくは10%、より好ましくは10.5%のクロムを含有している。クロムの量が多過ぎると、この合金の靭性と相安定性に悪影響を及ぼす。従って、本合金においては、クロムは、13%以下、好ましくは12%以下、より好ましくは11.5%以下に制限される。
次のような重量%組成を有するヒートを2段階真空溶解させた(VIM/VAR)。そのヒートは、炭素0.001%,マンガン<0.01%,ケイ素<0.01%,燐<0.001%,硫黄<0.0005%,クロム10.97%,ニッケル7.99%,モリブデン4.98%,銅<0.01%,コバルト8.51%,チタン0.02%,アルミニウム1.19%,ニオブ<0.01%,ホウ素0.0025%,窒素<0.0005%,酸素<0.0005%,セリウム0.004%,ランタン0.001%を含有し、残部が鉄と通常の不純物である。
次の質量%組成を有する実施例2Aと2BをVIM/VAR溶解させた。
各合金の残部は、鉄と不純物であり、その不純物は、マンガン<0.01%,ケイ素<0.01%,銅<0.01%,チタン<0.01%,ニオブ<0.01%,酸素<0.0010%を含んでいる。
次の質量%組成を有する実施例3をVIM/VAR溶解させた。その実施例3は、炭素0.008%,マンガン<0.01%,ケイ素<0.01%,燐<0.005%,硫黄0.0006%,クロム11.01%,ニッケル8.11%,モリブデン5.06%,銅<0.01%,コバルト8.55%,チタン0.022%,アルミニウム1.18%,ニオブ<0.01%,ホウ素0.0021%,窒素0.0012%,酸素<0.0010%,カルシウム0.0007%を含有する。残部は、鉄と不純物であり、その不純物はセリウム<0.001%とランタン<0.001%とを含んでいる。
