Abstract
【解決手段】ブルー相を発現する液晶材料、下記一般式(G1)で示される液晶性モノマーを含む液晶組成物である。なお、液晶組成物には、非液晶性モノマー、及び重合開始剤が含まれていてもよい。
(但し、一般式(G1)中、Xは、メソゲン骨格を示す。また、一般式(G1)中、Y1、Y2は、液晶性が維持できる程度であり、またブルー相を発現する液晶材料との相溶性が低下しない程度の長さであるとして、それぞれ独立して炭素及び酸素の合計が1〜20のアルキレン基を示す。)

Description
本実施の形態では、高分子安定化ブルー相を発現する液晶組成物、および液晶組成物を高分子安定化処理(重合処理)して得られる高分子/液晶複合体について説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1で説明した液晶組成物を重合させて得られる高分子/液晶複合体を用いた液晶素子について、その一例を図2を用いて説明する。図2は液晶素子の断面図である。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様である液晶組成物を液晶層に用いて作製された液晶表示装置について説明する。なお、本実施の形態で示す液晶表示装置は、表示素子として実施の形態2で説明したような液晶素子(液晶表示素子ともいう)を含む。また、液晶表示装置としては、パッシブマトリクス型の液晶表示装置でもアクティブマトリクス型の液晶表示装置でも適用可能であるが、本実施の形態では、アクティブマトリクス型の液晶表示装置に適用した場合について、図3を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様である液晶組成物を液晶層に用いて作製された液晶表示装置について説明する。なお、本実施の形態で示す液晶表示装置は、表示素子として実施の形態2で説明したような液晶素子(液晶表示素子ともいう)を含む。
本明細書に開示する液晶表示装置は、さまざまな電子機器(遊技機も含む)に適用することができる。電子機器としては、例えば、テレビジョン装置(テレビ、またはテレビジョン受信機ともいう)、コンピュータ用などのモニタ、デジタルカメラ、デジタルビデオカメラ、デジタルフォトフレーム、携帯電話機(携帯電話、携帯電話装置ともいう)、携帯型ゲーム機、携帯情報端末、音響再生装置、パチンコ機などの大型ゲーム機などが挙げられる。
1H NMR(CDCl3,300MHz):δ(ppm)=1.38−1.51(m、12H)、1.68−1.86(m、8H)、2.24(s、3H)、4.05(t、J=5.4Hz、4H)、4.17(t、J=6.6Hz、4H)、5.82(dd、J1=10Hz、J2=1.5Hz、2H)、6.13(dd、J1=10Hz、J2=17Hz、2H)、6.41(dd、J1=1.5Hz、J2=17Hz、2H)、6.95−7.00(m、4H)、7.06−7.19(m、3H)、8.12−8.18(m、4H)。

Claims (11)
- ブルー相を発現する液晶材料、および下記一般式(G1)で示される液晶性モノマー
を含む液晶組成物。
(但し、一般式(G1)中、Xは、メソゲン骨格を示す。また、一般式(G1)中、Y1、Y2は、それぞれ独立して炭素及び酸素の合計が1〜20のアルキレン基を示す。アルキレン基は側鎖としてアルキル基を有していても良い。また、当該アルキレン基、及び当該アルキル基はカルボニル基を含んでいても良く、エーテル結合を有していても良い。また、当該カルボニル基と当該エーテル結合とが連続してエステル構造となってもよい。また、一般式(G1)中、Z1、Z2はそれぞれ独立してアクリロイル基又はメタクリロイル基を示す。) - 請求項1において、
前記一般式(G1)中のY1、Y2は、それぞれ独立して炭素及び酸素の合計が奇数のアルキレン基であることを特徴とする液晶組成物。 - ブルー相を発現する液晶材料、および下記一般式(G1−1)で示される液晶性モノマー、を含む液晶組成物。
(但し、一般式(G1−1)中、X1は、メソゲン骨格を示す。また、一般式(G1−1)中、R1、R2は、それぞれ独立に水素またはメチル基のいずれか一を示す。また、一般式(G1−1)中、n、mは、それぞれ独立に1〜19のいずれか一である。) - 請求項3において、
前記一般式(G1−1)中のX1は、下記構造式(s11)〜(s18)のいずれか一であることを特徴とする液晶組成物。
(但し、構造式(s11)中のR3〜R6、構造式(s12)中のR7〜R10、構造式(s13)中のR11〜R14、構造式(s15)中のR15〜R18は、それぞれ独立に水素、メチル基、またはフッ素のいずれか一である。) - 請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか一において、
前記一般式(G1)または前記一般式(G1−1)で示される液晶性モノマーは、下記構造式(104)であることを特徴とする液晶組成物。
- 請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか一において、
前記一般式(G1)または前記一般式(G1−1)で示される液晶性モノマーは、下記構造式(102)であることを特徴とする液晶組成物。
- 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか一において、
非液晶性モノマー及び重合開始剤を含むことを特徴とする液晶組成物。 - 請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか一に記載の液晶組成物を用いて形成された高分子/液晶複合体。
- 請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか一に記載の液晶組成物を用いて形成された液晶素子。
- 請求項8に記載の高分子/液晶複合体を有する液晶素子。
- 請求項9または請求項10に記載の液晶素子を有する液晶表示装置。
