Abstract
【解決手段】エンジン運転状態に応じた燃料供給量から、排気に含まれる所定の燃料成分(硫黄成分,炭化水素成分など)の単位時間当たりの排出量を推定し(S1及びS2)、DOCなどの排気浄化エレメントにおける燃料成分の蓄積量を積算する(S3)。また、排気浄化エレメントに流入する排気温度に応じて、排気浄化エレメントから単位時間当たりに離脱する燃料成分の離脱量を推定し(S4)、燃料成分の蓄積量から離脱量を減算する(S5)。そして、燃料成分の蓄積量が所定値以上になると(S6)、排気浄化エレメントに蓄積されている燃料成分を強制的に離脱させる時期が到来したと判断し、警告灯を点灯させると共に(S7)、排気の温度を燃料成分の離脱温度よりも昇温させる強制離脱処理を実行する(S8)。

Description
図1は、本発明を具現化した排気浄化装置の一例を示す。
ディーゼルエンジン10の吸気マニフォールド12に接続される吸気管14には、吸気流通方向に沿って、空気中の埃などを濾過するエアクリーナ16,吸気を過給するターボチャージャ18のコンプレッサ18A,ターボチャージャ18を通過して高温となった吸気を冷却するインタークーラ20がこの順番で配設される。
ステップ3では、コントロールユニット42が、例えば、「蓄積量=蓄積量+単位時間当たりの排出量」という式を利用して、監視対象とする排気浄化エレメント、即ち、DOC26A,DPF26B,SCR触媒30又はアンモニア酸化触媒32に蓄積された燃料成分の蓄積量を推定する。
ステップ6では、コントロールユニット42が、排気浄化エレメントに蓄積された燃料成分の蓄積量が所定値以上であるか否かを判定する。ここで、所定値は、排気浄化エレメントに蓄積された燃料成分の強制離脱を行うべきか否かを判定するための閾値であって、例えば、排気浄化エレメントに許容される燃料成分の許容蓄積量より若干低い値を持つ。そして、コントロールユニット42は、燃料成分の蓄積量が所定値以上であると判定すれば処理をステップ7へと進める一方(Yes)、燃料成分の蓄積量が所定値未満であると判定すれば処理を終了させる(No)。
ステップ8では、コントロールユニット42が、排気温度を燃料成分の離脱温度よりも昇温させることで、排気浄化エレメントに蓄積された燃料成分を強制離脱させるため、ディーゼルエンジン10に取り付けられた燃料噴射装置に対して、燃料供給量の増量指令を出力する。なお、排気温度を昇温させる昇温手段として、吸気シャッタ又は排気シャッタの開閉制御,可変ターボチャージャのベーン開度制御, ポスト噴射など公知の手段を採用することもできる。
なお、本発明は、ディーゼルエンジン10の排気浄化装置に限らず、ガソリンエンジンの排気に含まれるCO,HC及びNOxを同時に浄化する三元触媒にも適用することができる。また、本発明は、DOC26A,DPF26B,SCR触媒30,アンモニア酸化触媒32及び三元触媒に限らず、排気管に配設された各種の排気浄化エレメントにも適用することができる。さらに、本発明は、複数の排気浄化エレメントを監視対象としてもよい。

Claims (9)
- エンジンの排気管に配設された排気浄化エレメントと、
前記排気浄化エレメントに流入する排気の温度を検出する温度センサと、
排気に含まれる所定の燃料成分の単位時間当たりの排出量を推定する排出量推定手段と、
前記温度センサにより検出された排気の温度に基づいて、前記排気浄化エレメントから離脱する燃料成分の単位時間当たりの離脱量を推定する離脱量推定手段と、
前記燃料成分の単位時間当たりの排出量及び離脱量に基づいて、前記排気浄化エレメントに蓄積されている燃料成分の蓄積量を推定する蓄積量推定手段と、
を含んで構成されたことを特徴とするエンジンの排気浄化装置。 - 前記燃料成分の蓄積量が所定値以上になったときに、前記排気浄化エレメントに蓄積されている燃料成分を強制的に離脱させる時期が到来したと判定する判定手段を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項1記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- 前記燃料成分を強制的に離脱させる時期が到来したと判定されたときに、その旨を報知する報知手段を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項2記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- 前記燃料成分を強制的に離脱させる時期が到来したと判定されたときに、前記排気浄化エレメントに流入する排気の温度を燃料成分の離脱温度よりも昇温させる昇温手段を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項2又は請求項3に記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- エンジン停止時に、前記燃料成分の蓄積量を不揮発性メモリに書き込む書込手段と、
エンジン始動時に、前記不揮発性メモリから燃料成分の蓄積量を読み出す読出手段と、
を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項4のいずれか1つに記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。 - 前記燃料成分の蓄積量を強制的にリセットするリセット手段を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項5のいずれか1つに記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- 前記排出量推定手段は、単位時間当たりの燃料供給量、及び、燃料における燃料成分の含有率に基づいて、前記燃料成分の単位時間当たりの排出量を推定することを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項6のいずれか1つに記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- 前記離脱量推定手段は、排気の温度に対応した燃料成分の離脱量が設定されたマップを参照して、前記温度センサにより検出された排気の温度に応じた燃料成分の離脱量を推定することを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項7のいずれか1つに記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- 前記蓄積量推定手段は、前記燃料成分の単位時間当たりの排出量を順次積算しつつ、この積算値から燃料成分の単位時間当たりの離脱量を順次減算することで、前記燃料成分の蓄積量を推定することを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項8のいずれか1つに記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
