Abstract
786,533. Pens for recording-instruments. SIGMA INSTRUMENT CO., Ltd. June 13, 1956 [June 27, 1955], No. 18511/55: Class 146(3) [Also in Group XIX] A recording instrument of the kind which employs a continuously moving chart 5 on which a writing instrument 8 is moved transversely to the direction of advance of the chart in accordance with the quantity to be recorded. has a marker 1 for tracing a control line 22 on the chart, the marker having a nib 19 adjustably secured to the instrument frame such that the position of the control line may be transversely adjusted. The nib 19 is carried by an-arm 18 pivotally secured to an arm 16 by a nut and bolt 21. The arm 16 is hinged by a t and bolt 20, to a bracket 17 secured to a clip 12 fitted on a plate 6. A tube 15, secured to the arms 16, 18 by bands 15A, supplies ink from a reservoir 11 to the nib 19. The reservoir 11 is supported in a clip 10 welded to the clip 12. The transverse position of the line 22 may be varied by slackening the nuts and bolts 20, 21 and moving the nib 19 to the desired position and tightening the nuts and bolts. The reservoir 11 is slid upwardly in the clip 10 to initiate the flow of ink, a lip 13 on the reservoir normally being maintained at the same level as the nib, such that the flow of ink is maintained by capillary action. The chart 5 is moved in the direction A over rollers 3, 4, while the pen 8 is moved, in the directions B and C, in accordance with the quantity to be recorded.
