810,253. Inking-apparatus. WINDMOLLER, A., and GENNERICH, M., [trading as WINDMOLLER & HOLSCHER]. Dec. 27, 1956 [Dec. 27, 1955], No. 39306/56. Class 100(2) In an inking device for aniline printing- machines, for adaptation to opposite directions of travel of the paper, the doctor blade is designed to be brought into contact with either the upper or the lower part of the screen fountain roller as desired, the ink being taken from the trough by the roller when the blade is in the upper position and being supplied to the doctor from above when the blade is in the lower position. In the upper position of the blade 5, Fig. 1, the roller 4 is partly immersed in ink in the trough 6. By releasing a screw connection with its spindle, lowering the trough, removing the blade and replacing it the other way round, the blade can be brought into the lower position, Fig. 2. In this case, ink from a reservoir 10 is supplied by a pump 9 through a pipe 11 to the middle of the blade 5, runs down the sides of the blade into the trough 6 and thence through a cock 12 and flexible pipe 13 back to the reservoir.
