Abstract

769,971. Packaging. HESSER, MASCHINENFABRIK-AKT.-GES., F. May 2, 1955 [May 20, 1954], No. 12672/55. Class 94(1). A machine for filling and closing packets comprises an endless conveyer 3 receiving empty packets 14 from formers 1 or other means, and two or more charging devices 4, 5, sited between the straight runs of the conveyer, into which a corresponding number of packets is pushed from the conveyer pockets 19 by sliders 6, the packets being returned to the opposite straight run by sliders 7 for transport to closing means 2. The devices 4, 5 may completely fill the packets with a measured quantity, or the packets may be partly filled by apparatus 9 and receive an accurate topping up charge from the devices 4, 5. Rejected underweight packets are pushed through the conveyer pockets onto a table 8 by the sliders 7. The charging may be by volume or weight or a combination of both. All individual elements of the machine are stated to be of known kind.
