Abstract

924,064. Weighing apparatus. C. LAZARETH. Oct. 24, 1961 [Oct. 27, 1960; Oct. 3, 1961], No. 38094/61. Class 143. Concrete-making apparatus comprises a frame 1 which forms the platform of a weighing- machine and which carries a feeding hopper 5, a receiving tray 3 and an elevator conveyer 4, the hopper 5 having an outlet shoot 5a which protrudes into the drum of a concrete mixer 7, disposed behind the frame 1, without the shoot touching the drum. With the shoot 5a closed by an element 6, concrete constituent is charged into the tray 3 and elevated into the hopper 5, the weight being indicated on a dial 2. As soon as the required weight is reached the charging into the tray 3 is stopped and the element 6 is opened. Cement is discharged from a silo 8 into a hopper 9 provided with a weighing or volumetric measuring device and is fed to the mixer 7 through a pneumatic pipeline 10. The cement may be fed from the silo into a hopper which is also weighed by the weighing platform and constituents may be fed from several stocks to the receiving tray. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement in which cement from a silo 17 is weighed by a device 27 comprising a balance beam 28 and sliding weight 29. A receiving tray 21, elevator 24 and feed hopper 14 are all mounted on a weighbridge 12. In this case tho constituents are mixed in a turbo-mixer 30. A silo may be provided to hold a reserve of constituents and divided into compartments which are filled from a receiving space, charged from lorries, by an elevator chain with a discharging shoot at the top mounted to rotate about a vertical axis.
