Abstract
630,768. Swinging latches. WILMOT-BREEDEN, Ltd., and PALMER, A. Aug. 21, 1947, No. 23168. [Class 44] A latch mechanism, e.g., for fastening the bonnet of a motor-car, comprises a spring- loaded rotatable catch 3 mounted on a bracket 2 secured to the bonnet and having a slot 4 for engagement by a fixed peg 7 and a shoulder 5 for engagement by a spring- loaded retaining lever 10. A push button 12 is adapted to contact an extension 11 of the lever 10 to release the catch 3. The catch is moved from the dotted position by the closing movement and when released and lifted clear of the peg 7, it is returned to this position by the spring 15.
