[Class 44] A band clip, particularly for supporting pipes on, or securing them to, structures, such as, for example, aircraft, comprises a strip 11 of metal, preferably aluminium or other light metal, with an inner layer 13 of rubber bonded thereto, so that the secured pipe 20 is not chafed. An outer layer 12 of rubber may also be bonded to the metal strip. The bolt receiving ends may be thickened in various ways.. As shown, blocks of metal 14 are bonded to the outer layer 12 and are covered with rubber 16, the whole being perforated to receive the bolt 21 which tightens the clip and secures it to a support 10. Alternatively washers or other metal pieces may be secured directly to the metal strip, or the metal strip may be cut from extended metal having the requisite cross-section to provide the thickened ends. In a further form the ends of the strip 11 are bent to flattened S-form to give three spaced layers of metal which are then embedded in rubber continuous with the layer 12. A modification is described which provides electrical connection between the pipe and the supporting structure. In this form the metal strip is inserted in a flattened unvulcanized rubber tube, a strip of metal gauze being bonded to that face of the tube which forms the inner face of the clip. The gauze strip has lateral lugs or extensions near its ends which are bent over to embrace the tube and lie under the heat of the securing bolt on the outer face of the clip. Preferably, the rubber used is the synthetic material known as " Neoprene."
