312,972. Marston, H. A. March 3, 1928. Addition to 285,314. Pulverulent-fuel burners. - In the pulverulent-fuel burner of the parent Specification comprising a central fuel supply pipe b surrounded by a cylinder a<1> having tangential air or steam inlets a<3>, air or steam is introduced into the fuel pipe through ports a<11> in spiral projections b<1> from pipes b<6> which may be connected through valves a<4>, a<12> to the inlets a<3>, to an independent supply source, or to both these sources. The pipes a<6> lead to a circular passage a<9> in the back plate a<2> of the burner and the passage a<9> is connected to the ports a<11> by pipes a<10>. Additional air or steam may be admitted to ;he fuel pipe b through a pipe c mounted adjustably in eccentric bushes e<1>, e<2> and additional air may be drawn into the cylinder a<1> through ports d regulable by rotating an apertuped ring d<2>. The air or steam from the cylinder a<1> may issue through an opening a<8> formed with curved surfaces a<7> or through ports causing the streams to take circumferential and tangential paths.
