Wire-cloths.-Apparatus for cleaning and washing the wire cloths of paper making and like machines, comprises nozzles 27, Fig. 1, on a pipe 34 mounted to slide on a rod 41 and capable of being raised and lowered by a right and left threaded screw 38, an operating handle 35 being provided. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also an apparatus comprising flexible steam pipes 9, Fig. 1, (Cancelled), having wide orifice nozzles 27 and mounted on slides 5 and on a screw-threaded spindle 13 which can be rotated by a handle 19 or by gearing from the machine to traverse the jets across the wire cloth 17. The slides 5 can be adjusted on the supports 1 so that the jets can be inclined in relation to the wire cloth as required. The two nozzles 27, Fig. 3, (Cancelled), can be adjusted towards each other and for this purpose are connected by a flexible steam pipe 28, a metal tray 29 supporting this pipe clear of the wire cloth, the flexible steam pipe being supported by a roller 11. A metal sheet 32, preferably of curved form, protects the cleaning device from any water falling from the upper run of the wire cloth. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 188,023.
