Abstract
308,565. Younghusband, J. L. March 23, 1928, [Convention date]. Boxes combined with powder-puffs; contents, facilitating access to; fittings, internal. - A box for loose powder has a flanged ring inserted therein, the flange being spaced from the bottom of the box and serving as a seat for a powder puff, the lower face of which normally rests on the powder in the box and acts as a closure therefor. As shown, a ring 6 has a skirt 7 frictionally retained in the box 1 and connected to the flange by a overhanging shoulder 8 past which the puff 12 snaps when closing the opening to the powder 14. The part R may be formed as a vertical or inclined surface which engages the puff by spring action. The box 1 may be made of non-metallic material and the lid, which is of metal, may be hinged thereto by a U-shaped rivet engaging a struckup strap on the lid and having its free ends embedded in the box.
