1382545 Screw conveyers P FOUCAULT and J PELLERIN 7 Feb 1973 6089/73 Heading B8A Apparatus for the metered feeding of a pulverulent material comprises a casing housing axially aligned compensator and metering screws 111, 112 and having an inlet 120 and an outlet 121, and a constant torque drive motor 126 driving the compensator screw 111 to compensate for variations in the supply to the compensator screw in order to supply a constant amount of material to the metering screw 112 which is driven by a variable speed motor 127. A sensor 125 detects the pressure of material in a chamber 127. A sensor 125 detects the pressure of ma- 'terial in a chamber 117 between the screws to control the motor 126. Material is delivered to the inlet 120 by a screw 105.
