Abstract

1,000,098. Knitting machines. KARL MAYER TEXTIL-MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. Jan. 28, 1964 [Jan. 31, 1963], No. 3686/64. Heading D1C. In a warp knitting machine, the needle bar, in addition to its up and down movement, has a to-andfro oscillation in opposition to that of the yarn guide bars driving the laying movement. As shown, comb plate 1 is carried on member 2 mounted on a strip 3 beyed on a pivoted shaft 4. Thrust bearings 6 for needle bar guide 6a are provided in projections 5 on strip 3 and the driving mechanism for the needle bar lift movement is articulated at 8 to guide 6a. Shaft 4 is engaged by a lever 9 operated through pusher member 10 by an accentric shaft. Yarn guide bar 12 is connected through levers 13 and limbs 14 with lever 9 so as to be oscillated in the opposite direction from the needle bar.
