Abstract

996,212. Knitting machines. T. A. GUSKEN, [trading as J. GUSKEN]. March 23, 1962 [March 25, 1961], No. 11312/62. Heading D1C. A double bed cut plush Raschel machine comprises yarn guides 1 to 5 carried on guide bars rigid with a shaft 7 rotatably mounted on links 16 carried on an intermediate shaft 17 and cam means driven synchronously with the operation of the latch needles 6a, 6b from which movement is transmitted by two independent means to the shaft and intermediate shaft respectively so that large movements of the yarn guides on opposite sides of the centre line, Fig. 4. As shown links 10 are connected to shaft 7 and 17 and carry rods 11 and 19 connected to pivoted levers 12 and 20 having follower rollers 13, 21 which engage cams 15, 22. Cams 15, 22 may have a constant radius side and a side with raised and recessed parts, Figs. 6a, 6b, one follower roller always being on a constant radius part. The two cams may be dissimilar in shape or may be on a angle shaft or a single cam may be used.
