Abstract
A machine for generating electricity from flowing water consists of two similar floats mounted side by side and rigidly attached to each other with a channel formed between them. A bladed wheel is mounted on bearings fixed to the floats so that the tips of the blade are immersed in the water. The floats are anchored to the bed of the stream so that the flowing water rotates the wheel which then drives an electric generator through a gear box with a speed increasing ratio of about 8:1.
