Abstract
The braking force on the aircraft wheels is monitored by sensors and passed to the braking control. The amount of brake pedal travel is translated into required brake force and compared with the measured value. Correction signals are calculated and automatically appleid to the brakes. The pilot thus has full braking control irrespective of the state of the brakes i.e. over a wide range of friction in the carbon disc brakes used on aircraft wheels.
