Abstract

A flat platform (31) is held floating at a certain distance under the water surface. The inlet opening for liquid is arranged at a level above this flat floating element. The suction arrangement has suction nozzle on the upper face of this element and a suction hose is connected to the underside of this flat element and this hose is flexible or can extend as a telescopic element. The flat element is held on the suction hose with a compensating and balancing holder. The inlet opening is held at all times in a position for drawing in oil or an oil and water mixture. The entire assembly is attached to the side of a ship via a submerged mounting, the ship having storage tanks for the collected oil.
