Die Gleitschiene, welche in Verbindung mit einem Türschließer oder Türöffner zum Öffnen und/oder Schließen einer Tür oder dergleichen benutzt wird, wird durch zwei Montageadapter 3, 4 mit Hilfe der Langlöcher 10 an eine Tür, einem Türrahmen, einer Wand oder dergleichen montiert. Die Montageadapter 3 und 4 werden in die jeweiligen Enden der Führungsschiene 2 bis zur Anlagefläche 4a, welche sich an die Führungsschiene anlehnt, eingesteckt und jeweils mit einer Schraube 5 befestigt. Das Abdeckelement 1 wird derart auf die Führungsschiene 2 aufgeschoben und verrastet, dass das Abdeckelement 1 die Führungsschiene 2 und die beiden Montageadapter 3, 4 teilweise abdeckt. Die Führungsschiene 2 wird zumindest in dem Abschnitt von dem Abdeckelement 1 nicht abgedeckt, in dem das hier nicht dargestellte Gleitstück für seine Funktion frei zugänglich sein muss. Das Abdeckelement 1 ist U-förmig aufgebaut sowie an seinem jeweiligen Ende offen. Die Verrastung des Abdeckelementes 1 erfolgt über eine formschlüssige Rastverbindung an der Führungsschiene 2 sowie an den Montageadaptern 3 und 4.
