Light Novel 'Tsuihousha Shokudou e Youkoso!' Gets TV Anime in 2025

Avex Pictures opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Yuuki Kimikawa's Tsuihousha Shokudou e Youkoso! (Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant!) light novel on Sunday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured). The anime series will air in 2025.

Kimikawa penned the gourmet fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website from October 2018 to September 2020. Overlap began printing the series in June 2019, featuring illustrations by Gaou (Guild no Uketsukejou desu ga, Zangyou wa Iya nanode Boss wo Solo Toubatsu Shiyou to Omoimasu). The third volume went on sale in June 2020. The light novel has a cumulative 850,000 copies of its volumes in print.

Tsumumi began drawing a manga adaptation on the Comic Gardo website in September 2019. Overlap released the eighth volume on June 25.

Tentai Books licensed the light novel in English in May 2020 and released the second volume in January 2023. Kaiten Books licensed the manga adaptation in English in December 2020 and released the third volume both digitally and physically on September 1 and September 20, respectively.

Synopsis
Backstabbed by those he considered friends, Dennis has been exiled from one of the strongest guilds around: the Silver Wings Battalion. He doesn't think much of it, though, as he was dying to use his level 99 cooking skills anyway. That's why he decides to leave the city behind and open up a diner in the countryside.

While pursuing his dream, Dennis meets Atrielle, a girl exiled from her noble household and relegated to slavery until he saves her.

The pair open the diner together, and their first client is... an exiled knight from a different guild? How peculiar. But she is not the only customer; a cocky mage and a drastically overworked yet underpaid sage become regulars as well.

The knight brings trouble to the diner at times, but Dennis's cooking skills and beloved butcher knives cut through trouble and hunger alike!

@PrincesaLuminosa Just to be clear, it's not necessarily bad (I think it's actually quite good compared to other fantasy title), bud it's not an iyashikei (like Isekai Shokudo). So if you're looking for another Isekai Shokudo, you might be disappointed. That's all

@uncleqrow I would like to watch a gourmet anime about a restaurant, and I thought it would be an anime with good foods, as Isekai shokudou or Food Wars, for example.

Ok... If it's as bad as they say, then I give up.

Wow, this is such an old title.... So old I don't even remember the story, just the premise and title.... I do remember dropping it (the manga) at some pt, don't remember why tho. Does not necessarily bc it's bad(?) I think. Dunno, don't remember.... Eh, Might as well add this to PTW for now.

As far as I remember, this doesn't have the same vibe as Isekai Shokudo (an iyashikei), since it's more oriented in overarching plot(?). Then again, I might be wrong, it's been so long since I last read the manga afterall.... wwwww
