The official website for the television anime adaptation of Hideyuki Furuhashi and Court Betten's Vigilante: Boku no Hero Academia Illegals (My Hero Academia: Vigilantes) manga revealed the main cast, teaser visual (pictured), and a teaser promotional video on Wednesday. The anime is scheduled to premiere on April 7 at 11:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by YTV.

Cast
Kouichi Haimawari: Shuuichirou Umeda (Zom 100: Zombie ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto)
Pop☆Step: Ikumi Hasegawa (Bocchi the Rock!)
Knuckleduster: Yasuhiro Mamiya (Terminator 0)

Kenichi Suzuki (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken (TV)) helms the anime at Bones Film. Yousuke Kuroda (Boku no Hero Academia) is handling the series composition and penning the script. Takahiko Yoshida (Hataraku Saibou) is designing the characters. Yuuki Hayashi (Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria), Shougo Yamashiro (Kono Machi to Watashi live-action movie), and Yuuki Furuhashi (Haikyuu!! Movie: Gomisuteba no Kessen background music assistance) are composing the music.

Furuhashi and Betten serialized the spin-off manga on the Shounen Jump+ web magazine from September 2016 to May 2022. Shueisha published the 15th and final volume in July 2022. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in 2018 and released the 15th and final volume on October 10.

Makoto, Kita and suddenly Gigantomachia? I don't know what will come of it, but it looks interesting. This is a full-fledged spin-off about completely separate characters, right?

this further shows us that stain was right and the whole hero system is fucked up. I hope there'll be a sequel where a villain defeats the damn heroes.

@RobertBobert it has some old characters too horokoshi had incorporated some characters stories into this the series is set 6 years before chapter 1 of the main series and is smaller scale focusing on one neighborhood and some hero history

@yamiyugi101 That is, this is not so much a spin-off as a prequel? I was honestly a little surprised by the announcement, as I thought it was a typical spin-off that ends with the original story.

@RobertBobert it focuses on new characters 80% of the time but has some elements of the original series so it's kind of both

@yamiyugi101 Now I'm wondering if they will be able to somehow adapt the entire manga in the end. If Dr. Stone is rumored to take three seasons to complete his final arc, how long will it take to adapt the MHA finale?

@RobertBobert there's only 20 chapters left of the original MHA manga left so either the anime final season will be short or they'll expand on it as for this one they can adapt it in 3 13 episode seasons easily

@yamiyugi101 So if they decide to adapt this to the end, it will be much futher than the ending anyway?

@yamiyugi101 Three years ago? Wait, then which MHA's spin-off was finished almost simultaneously with the manga's ending?

@RobertBobert it think team up heroes mission is the spinoff that's ending I'm not too sure as I don't keep up with spinoff that much

@yamiyugi101 I see. I just remember before the finale of the manga there was news that one of the spin-offs would be finished in 2-3 chapters and people were speculating that this meant that the main manga would end soon.

"Bones Film" is not some new department,
it's just Bones rebranding the whole studio

As for Vigilant it will most likely be animated by Studio B (aka the mob studio)

OK, this is one of the better spinoff manga I have read. Hopefully the anime does it justice.

It will be cool to see BNHA universe animated somewhat differently than before what with the more adult age characters.
