Touchless Translation and Handheld Vasco Translator

First-time use – using the mobile app

Download and install the Vasco Connect app on your smartphone. This is a dedicated mobile app for use with Vasco Translator E1. You can download it from the following:

the App Store (devices with iOS systems)

the Google Play Store (devices with Android systems).

Run the Vasco Connect app – once you have downloaded and installed Vasco Connect on your smartphone, run the app.

Take the earbuds out of the charging case to turn them on. The pairing process will begin automatically, and the earbuds should be found by Vasco Connect and listed in the app. Allow the mobile app to access the location and Bluetooth connection on your smartphone.
1. Select your earbud from the list in the app. It will light up and connect.
2. Personalize your earbud. Type a name, select your language, set a volume level, and select the color in which your earbud is to light up.
3. You can add another earbud and repeat the process, or immediately start using your earbud.
4. If you wish to unpair the earbud from your mobile phone, choose “Forget” from the drop-down list in the app or press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons on the earbud simultaneously for 3 seconds.
5. If you wish to restore your earbud to its default settings, press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons on the earbud simultaneously for 10 seconds.

Start the conversation – put your earbud on and tap “Go to conversation”. Now you can switch between the translation modes you prefer.

Earbuds mode – it allows you to talk directly with 2 or more people using earbuds that are paired with a single mobile app.
1. Pair the earbuds with the Vasco Connect app and personalize them (set the name, language, volume and color).
2. Press the earbud against your ear and release it to start talking. Once you have finished speaking, the translated text will appear on the screen and play through the earbuds of your conversation partners.
3. Now your conversation partner can press and release their earbud to start talking. The translated text will appear on the screen and play into your earbud.
4. You can also choose touchless translation. Once enabled, you don’t have to press the earbud. Just start speaking and the device will automatically translate your conversation.
Finish the conversation – once you have finished the conversation, place your earbud back into the charging case.

You can connect your earbuds to the handheld Vasco Translator and enjoy the advantages of this bundle.

Please turn on the handheld Vasco Translator and take the earbuds out of the charging case.

Make sure that your handheld Vasco Translator is updated to the latest version.

Tap the earbud icon in the device’s main menu. The pairing process will begin automatically, and the earbuds should be found by Vasco Translator and listed in the app.
Follow the B, C, D steps in the section “First-time use – using the mobile app”.
If you wish to unpair the earbud from your mobile phone and connect it to the handheld Vasco Translator, you can:
- Open the Vasco Connect app on your phone and select “Forget” next to your earbud, or
- Press both Volume Up and Down buttons on the earbud at the same time for 3 seconds.
If you wish to restore your earbud to its default settings, press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons on the earbud simultaneously for 10 seconds.

Do not dismantle any elements of the device on your own. Do not modify the device and do not paint it. If the device does not work properly, contact the distributor.

The battery should be charged in a cool and well-ventilated environment, away from flammables and explosives. Do not leave the device battery unattended while charging. This includes when charging the device for a long period of time, e.g. for many hours at night.
Do not cover the device, the charging case, or the charger while charging, and do not leave the device near heat sources such as heaters or ovens, or in bright sunlight (e.g. on a windowsill). This may cause the device to heat up, which may adversely affect the life of the battery and other components in the device. Overheating of the battery may cause an explosion.

Charge the device only with the charger and cable provided. If charging accessories are not included, charge the device only with compatible charging devices. When charging is complete and when the device is not charging, disconnect the charger from the power source.

To improve battery life, do not wait until the device is fully discharged before charging. Connect the device to a power source when you see the first low-charge message. Battery life benefits from charging to 80–90%, not 100%.
If you do not plan to use the device for a long time, make sure the battery is charged to 50%–80% before storing it. Regularly check the battery charge level and recharge if necessary. Storing an uncharged battery for a long time will reduce its life. If a fully discharged device is unused for a long time, it may take longer to recharge the battery. Deep discharge caused by long-term storage without regular charging can also cause the battery to swell under certain circumstances.
The device contains lithium-ion batteries, which are sensitive components that can cause injury if damaged. If you suspect that the battery may have been damaged (e.g. due to the device overheating or being dropped, hit, crushed, or improperly stored), do not connect the device with the damaged battery to a power source (e.g. charger or charging case).

Do not keep the device in the vicinity of magnetic devices such as hard disks, credit cards, etc. The device may become demagnetized.
Rain, high humidity, or any kind of moisture or liquid contains mineral substances and may cause the corrosion of electronic circuits. In the event of flooding, dry the device (do not use strong heat sources such as dryers or heaters) and immediately contact the distributor.

Repairing the device yourself outside of the manufacturer’s authorized service center will result in loss of warranty.
Do not attempt to repair the device yourself. Disassembling the device may damage it. In the case of some models, disassembling the device may also cause it to lose its water resistance.
The device is made from various materials (plastic, rubber, metal) that may cause an allergic reaction in some people. These reactions may be triggered by individual health conditions, cosmetics, medications, perspiration, or other environmental factors. Prolonged contact of the device with the skin is not recommended.

Use only dry, clean, and soft materials to clean the device and accessories (e.g. microfiber cloth). The use of chemicals (e.g. alcohol, benzene) is prohibited unless the cleaning instructions for individual devices or device components provided by the manufacturer state otherwise. Do not clean your product while charging.

This warranty is not valid in the event of problems with the GSM network.
This warranty does not cover accessories, in particular batteries, chargers, charging cases or headsets. The warranty covers only translation devices, including hand-held translators and earbud translators.

The device may be equipped with an integrated SIM card. This warranty does not include the SIM card.
The device uses third-party services (e.g. applications, software, websites, databases). This warranty does not cover the quality and scope of these services.
In the case of devices equipped with SIM cards, responsibility for proper operation of the SIM card and GSM services within SIM equipped devices rests entirely with the supplier of the factory SIM card.

The supplier of the integrated SIM card has agreements with the majority of GSM operators worldwide. The device requires an Internet connection via Wi-Fi or GSM. The manufacturer makes no guarantee that the device will function in every location, nor any guarantee of free Wi-Fi access.
In the case of devices equipped with SIM cards, Vasco Electronics accepts no responsibility for the proper functioning of SIM cards other than the integrated SIM card, or for any additional costs imposed by operators other than those imposed by the operator of the integrated SIM card.
SIM cards must not be used outside of the device. Removal of the SIM card from the device may result in the person who removes the card being liable for damages to Vasco Electronics and the SIM card supplier.

Violation of the terms of use for SIM cards, including in particular removing the SIM card from the device, using the SIM card in third-party devices, using data transmission via the SIM card for a purpose other than using the device functions, or modifying devices in such a way that data transmission via the SIM card is possible, will result in full liability for damages on the part of the user. The above-mentioned liability also extends to any resulting lost profit or unrealized profit.
Although the device uses cutting-edge technology for text translation and speech recognition, the results produced by this functionality should be treated as helpful information, not a precise translation. Translations may be inaccurate.
Vasco Electronics accepts no responsibility for damage caused by imprecise or inaccurate translations.
