Wee Iron Man

Just for no other reason here's Wee Iron Man.

Okay there is a reason I picked this up, it reminds me of a halloween costume we made for my son when he was little.

lil' Venom

Venom is one of those characters that you either love or hate, at least that's the way I feel about him. When he first made an appearance back in the nineties I, like so many other fanboys, gobbled up everything venom. That was till he started to appear in everything.

Venom was one of those characters that I like to refer to as being a victim of "the Borg effect". You know the Borg from Star Trek the Next Generation, every time our heroes were to face overwhelming odds, it turned out to be the Borg, who like Venom was cool at first till they rode that pony into the ground. So while I was excited at the prospects of seeing Venom on the silver screen in Spider-Man 3, I cringed knowing that he would be in every toy and cereal aisle across the world. What makes it worse is it's always hard to find a cool looking Venom.

So my buddy Bill pops into my office this past January with a Super Hero Squad two pack featuring two of the villains from Spider-Man 3, Sandman and Venom. Bill knows I dig these little figs from Marvel and Star Wars, so when he sees one that looks interesting he'll grab it. I have to say this is the coolest version of Venom I've seen from the line, let alone the movie toys. Strange thing is this is a übber rare set, that I had never seen before and is turning up at scalper prices. The only thing I can figure is, it's because of the Venom figure itself. Super Hero Squad has a few Venoms mixed into various two packs, but non that look, feel, and have the size of this one, it is truly the best Super Hero Squad Venom to date. Too bad his appearance in the movie was not as exciting.

Lil' Namor

Does anyone really like Namor? I mean pretty much every story I've read he has been a big ole' jerk. Maybe my memory is fading, as a kid I thought he was sort of okay in the Invaders, of course I only had one issue. I mean he was hanging out with Captain America and a couple of Human Torches, he couldn't be that bad, right? But then as he started popping up in various Fantastic Four comics I was reading or cartoons, he really started coming off as more of a jerk...

Anyway, I don't care how cute Hasbro made him for the Super Hero Squad line, he still looks like a little jerk, you know the friend that would take your favorite toy, break it, and then tell you that he didn't! Yeah I'm talking about you Namor... you jerk ass!

Lil' Super Skrull

More Marvel Cuteness this Monday, with another Fantastic Four villain, the Super Skrull! This one trumps Lil' Doc Doom, with a mischievous smirk and displaying each of his foes powers. I love that only one foot is invisible, so he can trip you and play it off I guess, unlike Sue Storm who's invisibility starts at both her feet and works it's way up I imagine!

I think I can safely say "I'm in!" when it comes to collecting these Marvel Super Hero Squad figures, so expect to see more of these when I can find them! Maybe they'll make a Lil' Fantasticar! Hint, hint Hasbro!

Lil' Doom

How could you fear Dr. Doom when he looks like this. He really doesn't seem all that bad when he's reduced to this child like version. Lil' Doom here was packed with one of the members from the Fantastic Four Super Hero Squad two packs shown together here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, why didn't they think of these things earlier? I can't wait till they start making key chains of all these little Marvel heroes and villains! Come on DC get on the ball and makes some lil' competition for these guys. I could see the whole Justice League of America done up in this style!

Lil' Silver Surfer

This just in from the Hasbro Superhero Squad line, Silver Surfer. I've actually been holding this one for a couple of weeks, he came packed with a little fiery Human Torch. When did you ever think that a guy on fire would make an appropriate toy for kids? But now that I think about it Mego had a Human Torch as well.

This was given to me with one stipulation, I had to open it. So I did! I'll admit that between the Superhero Squad and the Star Wars Galactic Heroes line, plus the Transformers joining the fray, I have a hard time keeping up. So I resorted to just getting the characters that I like! Oh and I likes me some Silver Surfer!
